Rebel #2 – YOU BET! September 30, 2008

+10 for anyone who can get the title reference.

Anyways, I’ll keep today’s blog post short and simple, since I’m sort of at a loss for words.  Anyways, I’m not really sure what to say right now, but let’s talk about life.  Okay, maybe not. Well, the way I’ll write this blog post is that I’ll use the fortune cookie on Backloggery to choose a random game that I can talk about.

Okami (PS2, Wii)

ANYWAYS, I’ve seen a lot of people replaying Okami these days, and I wondered…  Actually, I didn’t wonder anything.  The fortune cookie told me to blog about this.  I’m surprised, though, because I did want to blog about this a week ago.  First and foremost, I think Len and Sousuke haven’t played this game yet.  They mustI will see to it tonight.  Anyways, to make a long story short, Okami is brilliant.  To make a short story long, Okami is about a… um… dog…. that can paint…. on your screen…. to….  uh….. use…. powers!  Hmm, I bet all of you know what Okami is, so I’ll describe my opinion on it.  Okami is a fun, “unique” game developed by Clover Studios.  The gameplay unfolds kind of like a Legend of Zelda game, with Legend of Zelda-esque puzzles and Zelda-esque dungeons.

Okami is beautiful to see, but even better to watch.

Okami is beautiful to see, but even better to watch.

I don’t really remember much about this game, but I remember that as you progress through Okami, the protagonist dog guy, Amaterasu gains different powers by way of the unique gameplay element, called the “celestial brush”.    As the game progresses, Ammy learns how to draw different things using the Celestial Brush.  You pretty much do everything with the Celestial Brush; you can draw attacks, bombs, rejuvinate trees…  yeah.  Sorry if the presentation is running a little dry, I need to play through this game summoar later! Anyways, to sum it up, Okami is a must play in almost every way.  It has charming visuals and sound, varied, interesting environments, that bring you into the game.

Drawing with the Celestial Brush is.. well... intuitive!

Drawing with the Celestial Brush is simple and intuitive.

Some people may think that, upon first glance, the brush controls just don’t “flow” (of course, this only applies to the PS2 version, where you use the right analog stick to draw).  However, by the time you reach an hour through the game, and you’re traversing through fields of blossoms and trees drawing stuff on the screen in an interactive world, you’ll already be drawing things… everywhere… while running.  In the end, I believe Okami deserves a…

Kiba’s Wolfpack #1 – Crush 40 – Escape from the City… City Escape September 29, 2008

Special category go! Might as well release some stepfiles here that can be used for Stepmania as well as any r21/r23 enabled In The Groove 2 machines.

Why is it called Kiba’s Wolfpack? My tag that people started knowing me more commonly as at the arcade I play at was KIBA. Although many of them know my real name, they’ve gotten too used to it and continue to call me by my former tag name (and they still do). WOLF is my current tag, hence the pack name. No one calls me Wolf though. :(

Here’s one I’ve already released at r21freak.

Crush 40 – Escape from the City… City Escape | Length: 2:23 (NOT R23 SAFE) | Expert – 10

This is one of my more lame files, but it gets the job done.

I was tired of finding City Escape simfiles done horribly online. Since I was getting more familiar with making stepcharts, I figured I should take a whack at this song and do it myself. Pretty much goes with the instrumentals in the music and it does tend to get a little repetitive, but overall, it’s still a very fun file. Since my first release of the file, I’ve re-synched it a couple of times, but it should be alright now. I have to test this at an arcade with a working USB port, but I’m pretty sure I’m on for this one.

As far as the steps go, for anyone who has the stamina to do a couple of gallops for about two minutes and deal with small bursts of streams should be just fine.

As far as an acutal rant for me, that will probably come tomorrow during my class or something to save me from boredom.

Len #7 – And Geass R2 comes to a close September 28, 2008

Now Mach is the only person without some cool “subcategory” thing. I only have to do like 3 more rants until I’m finished the with mothership titles. Until Tales of Hearts comes out, of course. It’s so god damn lame how they are making a CG version. At least they’re releasing an anime version, too, because we all know how anime oriented the Tales series is.

I might do some “sub rant” type of things for my Tales segment.. for non-mothership titles, like for ToS:Dotnw, it’ll be like rant 5.5 or something, since it’s Symphonia’s sequel. And for the Tales of the World games, I could classify it by decimals according to release dates, or something like that. >_> Like TotW: Narikiri Dungeon 3 came out after ToR, so it could be like 6.4 or something. Lulz.

Oh, Sousuke informed me that they were making a second part to the ToS OVA, which covers the latter events. I knew that was happening. I don’t mind it, though, as long as they don’t screw it up. o_o The animation looks a lot prettier now. Also, Abyss is starting to look pretty nice, as well. A PV came out yesterday, or so I’ve heard. October is coming soon, woo.

Since the Tales festival is still going on in Japan, we might expect some great new Tales news, hopefully some big news at the end. I don’t know too much about it, so I won’t be covering it entirely, I’ll just point out things that interest me and such. I use other resources to get this information, sometimes other people just inform me… (like Sousuke, lulz.)

Anyway, the final episode of Code Geass R2 aired today, and I have to say that it was somewhat of a great conclusion along with a tad bit of disappointment.. (you see, I wanted A LOT of characters to die.) Beyond this point is extravagant spoilers, so don’t read it if you don’t want the end spoiled. I don’t cover the whole episode, just the points that interest me and such.

All they did was rant the first half of the episode. “WHAT IS JUSTICE,” “IS GEASS JUSTICE?” “WHAT IS JUSTICE..” “YOUR WAYS ARE WRONG, ONII-SAMA!!!!!!!!”

JUSSSSTICCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. RAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. It’s like a mix of Ma Chao, Virginia Maxwell, and Flynn. The hero of justice would be some freaky looking shemale, I’ll give you that.

Suzaku and Kallen’s fight was lame, I was actually expecting something more. Kinda pissed that Suzaku loses.. and his LANCELOT EXPRODES… Kallen falls down, but Gino catches her. Whatever happened to that punk, anyway? I didn’t see him in the epilogue.. maybe I wasn’t paying attention.

Lelouch commands Nunnally to give him the stupid switch and with that, he uses his Geass on her. He then leaves and becomes to emperor of the world.. (with a badass broadcast) and so everyone shouts, “All hail, Lelouch!”

TIME SKIP. 2 months.

Lelouch is a symbol of evil. The 99th Emperor Lelouch via Britannia annihilates anyone who stands in his way, and is an enemy to the people.. (although, they don’t dare say that out loud). There’s a gravestone with Suzaku’s name on it and Arthur(the cat that always bit him) sitting in front of it.

As he is about to excecute the “traitors”.. (Ohgi, Kallen, the Chinese peeples, the Black Order… NUNNALLY…) guess who appears! It’s ZERO! And with his jumpy mad skillz, right away, we can see that this masked Zero is in fact, Suzaku.

And here we go, this was all Lelouch’s plan! He planned to become a symbol of evil, since peace couldn’t unite the people. Zero was, is, and will always be a symbol of justice.. a symbol for the people. That’s right, Lelouch is not Zero, Zero is just passed on. As Zero thrusts his sword through Lelouch, Lelouch tells Suzaku that he must throw away his name and forever live on as Zero. (Well, he’ll have to, considering he already has a gravestone to the name “Suzaku Kururugi”.)

DRAMATIC scene, right here. Lelouch’s body falls down to Nunnally, and she realized all along what Lelouch’s plan was, what he hoped to accomplish. She cries and tells him that her only happiness was to live together with him. With a tomorrow without Lelouch, what’s the point?

She finally tells Lelouch that she loves him, and he smiles.. as… he dies. HE DIES. I KNEW IT.

Another TIME SKIP, everyone is pretty much adapting to their new life. Peace has finally been achieved, although everyone has their problems. Zero is still a symbol of justice, Nunnally lives on.. as she strives into politics, it seems. Accompanied by Suzaku Zero.

At the end, they skip to C.C.. where she is riding on the back of some haystack thing in the countryside. It seems that she’s just going to live forever.. She’ll never die. Ever.

I kinda wished C.C. died along with Lelouch, but oh well. I wanted a bunch of other people to die. Like Kallen.. and Gino. And Nina.. AND OHGI. But, oh well. At least Lelouch got what he deserved. It’s a shame, though, ending made me kinda sad.

He reshaped the world for the better, unlike Light from Death Note who only drowned in his power. Lelouch had his boundaries, at least. His death was also very fitting for him. The ending made me like him again.. although I still like Suzaku. There are still people trying to prove that Lelouch is still alive. What the hell, seriously?

Critical Rewind #1 – What exactly IS a Mandrill? September 28, 2008

Posted by Sousuke in Critical Rewind.

Nope, not a rant this time! This is yet another feature that I’m adding to DRE. I’m calling it Critical Rewind. What exactly is it? Well… It’s sort of along the lines of Rebel’s Revisiting the Old Days segment. I’ll be taking a bunch of older games, and recording playthroughs. At this point, [basically as a test run] it will simply be ‘playthroughs’, with the games played to completion. In the future, I might do things like speedruns, or other ‘challenges’ like no-damage runs.

What’s up first? Well, Rebel’s doing the Mega Man series already… So I’ve decided to tie into that, and take on the Mega Man X series. I’ll likely only do the first three titles [for SNES], but MAY decide to take on X4 through X6 as well. We’ll see what happens. I have plans for a few others as well, namely Super Metroid.

Mega Man X Boxart

So, back to Mega Man X. Unless you have either been living under a rock [in a cave, on Mars, with your fingers in your ears] for the past 21 years, I’m sure you know who Mega Man is. Mega Man X is essentially the spiritual sequel to the original series, continuing the story. X was created by Dr Thomas Light [who created Mega Man and Roll] 30 years after the original series. I’m sure you can learn more yourself through a little light reading.

Similar to the original series, X gains powers from beating bosses, in the form of new weapons. Each of the X games consists of eight main bosses, along with an intro stage, and several boss stages–one of which always includes a section where you have to fight a copy of each of the eight Reploid bosses. Something new this time around though, was the addition of ’secret’ Capsules. By finding the Capsules, you would receive a message from Dr Light. This not only added to the story, but entering the Capsule would power up part of X’s armor: either his boots, arm cannon, helmet, or body. Each game had different power-ups, too. Mega Man X3 added an EXTRA 4 Special Capsules, but you were only able to choose one. This gave a little variation to your play style: you could gain powers like being able to dash in the air twice, or the ability to heal while standing still. Zero is also playable in small ‘bursts’ throughout the game. From X4 onwards, the Capsule structure changed entirely. X could be played without any armor upgrades, and finding the Capsules would give him a piece of armor. [Again, 4 parts for a set of armor.] However, you wouldn’t be able to equip your new armor until you found all four parts–and there were two sets in each game. This again, added different abilities to X’s arsenal. Also note that Zero is playable throughout most of the entire story beyond X4.

A neat little secret [one might even call it a cameo] could be found in the first two games, as well. The X series was produced by Capcom, the makes of the Street Fighter games, and as such, two special abilities were added. The conditions to actually receive these special Capsules are quite extreme: you’ll need to have every item, power-up, and capsule ability to find them, as well as need full health and sub-tanks. They’re also hidden rather well, requiring quite a bit of skill just to get to them. And even then, if you’ve missed something, or made a mistake, the Capsule won’t appear. What’s the reward for tracking down these elusive power-ups? Mega Man X rewards you with the Hadouken, and Mega Man X2 yields the Shoryuken. They’re even performed the same way as in the Street Fighter games! And while they can only be used while at full health, they’re incredibly powerful–they can take down any enemy [assuming the shot connects] in a single blow. A similar Capsule in Mega Man X3 powered up X’s armor with all four of the special Capsules and turned his armor to gold. The later X games also held secrets like this, but they were simply a strong armor, called the Ultimate Armor, and they weren’t nearly as tough to find.

The music also took a turn–Well, I suppose any transition from the NES to the SNES would have an ‘improved’ sound. Mega Man X took on a more techno-based soundtrack, and while you may not be a fan of the style, it fits the game rather well.

So, without further delay, check out the first part of the playthrough: the Intro Stage!

Also, make sure to keep an eye on our YouTube page for further new videos when they come out! [I'll take this time to say that Segment 2 and Segment 3 are up as well, so check them out!]

SELECT STAGE #1 – CUT….MAN! September 26, 2008

So, I was going to rant about how much I hate a certain Final Fantasy game, but I’ll leave that ’till later (most people will hate me for hating that certain Final Fantasy game).  Instead, I’ll talk about some of the games I’ve played recently.  Hmm hmm, let’s see…  Oh, I’ve got something to write!  I’m gonna get started on one of the things I’ve been planning!  Revisiting the Old Days.  I guess I’ll explain a little bit about this.  Basically, I’ll be recording a few short videos of games on legacy consoles.  Of course, these videos won’t be of the whole game, unless I change my mind and decide to do full videogame playthroughs.  As compensation for the last blog post, I’ll talk write up… well… a lot less.  I think I wrote too much last time. Okay, okay, less rambling, more ranting!

Mega Man (NES)

Everyone loves Mega Man, and with the release of Mega Man 9, I’ve decided to start off RVTOD with… well… Mega Man.  Mega Man is a game with a huge legacy.  Of course, I won’t really talk about its legacy.  YOU GUYS CAN GO LOOK THAT STUFF UP ON YOUR OWN!  Anyways, Mega Man featured great graphics, fair challenge, and revolutionary gameplay.  In fact, the front cover said it was State-of-the-Art, with High Resolution Graphics.  By the way, even though I say fair challenge, let me just get my point across: this game will kick your ass. I don’t really know what to say right now, so I’ll write a description, and keep this short.  Mega Man is about a boy dressed in blue, with an arm cannon.  Of course, he fights evil, on the side of Dr. Light, against the evil scientist Dr. Wily and his creations; the 6 Robot Masters. At least, that’s what I think the story is.  All I care about is blasting random enemies with Mega Man’s arm cannon, while navigating through tough, but fun stages.  Mega Man plays like your average platformer.  Navigate through linear levels, and fight a boss at the end.  What split it apart, during its time, was the fact that Mega Man got powers after kicking a boss’s butt.  For example, when you beat Cutman, Mega Man would gain the ability to throw circular boomerang scissors at people.  Mega Man featured charming visuals that were above average for an NES game at the time and its music was quite memorable (although, the most memorable songs came from first-party Nintendo games).  It’s kind of hard to delve into old 8-bit games and review how good the games were for their time.  The sounds effects are what you’d expect from an NES game; nothing special, but it still sounds great.  Well, like I said earlier, I’ll be featuring some level recordings in these types of blog posts… and… well….  Unless you’ve been living in a hole for the last 25 or so years, you should have already seen Mega Man in action already… But I’ll show you guys anyways.

EDIT: Revisiting the Old Days is now called “SELECT STAGE”.

A Step into Tales #7 – Where Legends begin… September 26, 2008

The Tales series has evidentially erupted worldwide after the extremely successful release of Tales of Symphonia. As Rebirth was being developed in Japan, another Tales game was in the process of development. That Tales game is the seventh mothership title in the series, Tales of Legendia.

Tales is generally heard as.. as a series with beautiful music. Each Tales game’s music (with the exception of Legendia and Innocence) were composed by the -now famous- composer, Motoi Sakuraba. He also joint composed with Shinji Tamura for ToP, ToS, and TotA. You could call Sakuraba another cameo of the Tales series.. since they never really changed the composer.

He is fantastic with the piano, I just wish he would orient his themes more strictly towards it. His piano themes are simply fantastic, and I just loved the themes in Tales of Destiny 2.. especially when he incorporated the opening theme, “key to my heart” into the piano and played it during the cutscenes. Jeez, it just made me love that game even more.

However, after Destiny 2, his music composition began to go downhill. It all sounded rather repetitive when heard in Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia. I have to admit that there were some rather delightful themes in the game, but most of them sounded generic and made his previous compositions glimmer less.

Tales of Legendia undoubtedly has the best soundtrack in the whole Tales series. It was not Motoi Sakuraba who composed it, rather, it was Go Shiina. He’s probably someone you haven’t heard of until now, but he is simply great. I have to say that his best compositions are the strings oriented ones. They’re just so damn good.

While many may not appreciate Legendia, they all have to admit that it has the most beautiful soundtrack in the series. I really hope that Go Shiina composes future Tales games, because I’m quite frankly tired of Sakuraba. Especially after hearing Shiina’s works. However, Destiny 2’s themes will never fade from my heart. They were absolutely breathtaking.

My favorite themes from Go Shiina are: the Forest of No Return and TALES. TAO, the melfes version is also very good, as well.

Whilst Tales of Rebirth was being developed, Tales of Legendia was also being developed by a Namco internal team called Team Melfes, rather than the usual Tales studio. It is one of the two mothership titles to be developed by a team other than the Tales studio.

And so, in 2005, Tales of Legendia was released into the world.. or Japan. In early 2006, ToL was then brought to America, however; not to Europe. It’s a shame. (I chose to use the Japanese cover because it looks better.)

Tales of Legendia introduces our seventh Tales hero, Senel Coolidge. Senel is a smug little punk who consistently pushes everyone away, believing he can do things on his own and protect what’s important to him by himself. That’s a rather bad first impression of him, but it’s what we see at the beginning.

When we first meet him, his only care in the world is to protect his apparent sister, Shirley Fennes. Who is incidentally the heroine. However, after Shirley gets kidnapped, he has to work together with others to rescue her.. and through this, he learns companionship.. which incidentally, is the most “moralized” aspect of this game. Later on, they’re always spouting nonsense about “NAKAMA” .. kinda like One Piece. I love that blistered nonsense, though. IT MAKES YOU TEAR UP AT TIMES.

Anyway, at the beginning of the game, Senel and Shirley are on a boat.. and they seem to be caught up in a tedious situation. Monsters are constantly attacking them, and unfortunately for Shirley, sea water and wind makes her very weak. They are soon ship wrecked and end up on the Legacy. What they first think to be an island is actually an extremely large vessel called the Legacy. THE LEGACY. That’s such a badass name.

Anyway, though the ship wreck, Shirley is extravagantly endorsed with sea water and knowing this, Senel needs to quickly heal her. He meets a man named Will Raynard and asks him where a fresh water spring is located. Senel hurriedly goes to it and places Shirley in the water. While Will is enraged and startled, asking him what he’s doing, Shirley glows as the water purifies her. Will sees this and is amazed. However, some other folks harboring ill intentions views this, as well. And Shirley is kidnapped.

AND SO begins Senel’s 40 hour chase to rescue Shirley and learn the true meaning of friendship. It may sound like a waste of time, but it’s not, IT’S NOT.

Now if you’re a Tales fan, you probably already know about Tales of Legendia’s reception. It’s very, very bad. Some view it as the worst Tales game, especially those ToS fanboys/girls. It’s a shame, really. I thought Legendia was absolutely captivating, my favorite Tales game and game in general by far.

It wasn’t really the story that got to me, nor was it the gameplay, or any of that. It was really the characters. They glimmered, more than anything. They really added to the story, made it feel less out of place. Not to mention the character development.. through all of the Tales games, Legendia probably had one of the most inducing development in the series. This is especially shown through Senel.

I wouldn’t say he changes more than Veigue, but he learns the beauty of companionship and learns to accept and trust other people who appear in his life. Now that I think about it, Senel is also similar to Veigue in the caption of shouting the heroine’s name 4 million times. “SHIRLEY, SHIRLEY, SHIRLEY!!!” ..Oop.. can’t forget that epic “STELLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” dub. Of course, Senel’s obsessive name calling doesn’t beat Shirley’s constant craving for “ONII-CHAN!!” and his probably immense cock? I mean, why else would she constantly banter his name.. or rather ONII-CHAN every second of the game if there wasn’t anything good about him? It has to be his IMMENSE CAWK since his personality isn’t something to whore throw yourself at.

Legendia’s reception can also be because it’s the first non-Tales studio Tales game.. developed by some of the creators of the Soul Calibur series, as well. The battle system pretty much jumps back to the standard LMBS, with the straight line focus. However, they throw in something called a climax bar, where you can freeze the whole battlefield for a short period of time and rack up some immense combos or spells.. or healing whilst the enemy is frozen. This can be compared to the hourglass, but it’s much better.

Senel is also the first(and probably the last) Tales hero to use his fists to fight. Strictly his fists. That’s right, no swords for you, SenneSenne~(I USE NORMA’S JAPANESE NICKNAMES, OKAY.) This threw the reception back much more, but I don’t think it’s all that bad. It takes a while to get used to, yeah.. especially since Senel moves slow, but as you get new skills and such, it’s a much better experience. Though I can admit that the battle system gets very boring at times, especially with the consistent battle rate.

A lot of people chose to fight with Chloe instead, because she uses swords and her pace is much faster than Senel; however, this will only screw them over later on in the game. Chloe will not always be with you, in fact, she might be the one you have to fight! (OR NOT, LULZ) This brings on tight situations when you’re not with her. And still.. Senel x Chloe = DO NOT WANT.

Tales of Legendia also implements throwing into the battle system. With Senel being a fist user and all, he’s obviously a brute strength type of guy, so you can throw your enemies. Well, based on their weight, anyway. There are about four general throw skills you can get, and a lot of custom ones you can develop.. for certain type enemy and bosses. It’s fun to throw enemies when they’re knocked down, especially since the knocking down rate is CONSTANT. (Damn you, Chloe.)

Another reason that Legendia is generally disliked is probably because people DID NOT BOTHER TO FINISH THE GAME. I mean through the main quest with the stupid aspect of chasing Shirley CONSTANTLY, it didn’t exactly glimmer to me as the “perfect” game, either; however, through the second half of the game, the character quests, I loved ToL… LOVED IT.

Many people view it as “sidequests” simply because the character quests are not voice acted in the English version. As I recall, Namco did not have “time” to voice act it because they were having some issues bringing it over here or something like that? I don’t clearly remember what I read, but there was a reason why it could not be voice acted. They should have just gave it more time, in my opinion, because it would be GREAT voice acted. GREATER, actually. I played it in Japanese, as well, with the voices, and they were just awesome.

Overall, Tales of Legendia is my favorite Tales game. It has terrible reception.. but that can’t be helped. People just have different tastes, I suppose. It had great character development, a glimmering aspect of the game. The battle system was somewhat challenging, at least way more than ToS or TotA.. but it doesn’t beat ToD2’s difficulty. I don’t think any Tales game beats ToD2’s difficulty.

Next up, Tales of the Abyss. Oh Luke, you emo piece of crap.

Len #6 – So I guess it’s beyond a cold September 26, 2008

Because I threw up. FOUR TIMES.

I just love telling everyone that. Anyway, because of my stupid cold/puking, I missed work like two days and only got like 30 minutes into gaming. I need to take a shower, also. But at least I watched some Code Geass R2. Caught up like 4 episodes, so now waiting for the FINALE. I’m not anticipating it, nor am I excited. Actually, I’m glad that it’s finally over, but I bet they’re going to crap something our after R2.

It feels more boring than stupid, actually. The whole plot just twisted itself, Suzaku is now Lelouch’s lapdog, after nearly 2 seasons of misunderstandings and the like, it’s now “YES, YOUR MAJESTY!” I have a love/hate thing for Suzaku. I really loved him in season 1, and in the majority of season 2, I thought he was a total jerk. Now I’m starting to like him again, it’s really weird.

Charles and Marianne had so many kids, but the only ones they threw away were Lelouch and Nunnally? You’d think Lelouch would have raged a little more after hearing that, I’d totally punch them, but then again, he’s the best when it comes to yelling and looking shocked with those big eyes of his.

Poor Kallen, Lelouch didn’t love her. SHE WAS A TOOL. Well, the whole Black Rebellion were tools, and now they’ve turned into such douches, I don’t mind them being tools. I just wish Ohgi would have died, but I guess they won’t kill him now, considering he has a child on the way.

And what’s with Nina? She’s being so normal. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SICK EUPHIE OBSESSION, NINA!? You masturbated to her! God, that scene was hilarious. There were a bunch of kids on the picture along with Euphie, too. I guess she’s going to live for redemption now. That makes as much sense as naming the third volume of hack G.U. Redemption.

A person I know keeps hoping for a romantic ending with Lelouch and C.C. living happily ever after. I kinda hope that doesn’t happen. Mainly because C.C.’s wish all along was to simply die, but after meeting Lelouch, her opinion on death has changed. But Lelouch.. well he deserves to die. All he’s done is use people and I think even he believes he needs to die. Hell, Suzaku believes he needs to die too, but Lelouch’s Geass “Live on!” won’t let him. Poor bastard. And if Lelouch dies, then C.C. will probably want to die again.

I felt so bad for Nunnally, the way she was trying so hard to reach for that stupid button crap she dropped. She’s like the centre of the story, and at the same time, she’s the one that’s completely useless. However, they pretty much dropped the finale on her. She has some beautiful eyes.

That’s right, if your will is strong enough, you can defeat anything! Even daddy’s Geass!

Anyway… that’s it for now. My next post will probably be #7 of Tales.

I really do. And it just got really cold down here in Jersey. Screw you, Fall.

So, yeah. I was supposed to do that Bust-A-Groove thing tonight, but that never happened. Mostly because I fell asleep and was way too tired to do so anyway. Regardless, I don’t think I would’ve been able to get it done tonight since originally I was planning to hit up an arcade with a friend. I heard that it just got Tekken 6. So I had to check it out for myself.

Slept til’ Midnight, so it never happened. Probably gonna hit that place up Saturday or something. I’ll get some pictures or whatever.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is at a stand still because of my horribly inability to actually hold on to the Hammer power long enough to reach a certain area.

Disgaea DS still looks wonderfully the same. I can’t wait to get an updated cheat file for this. Regardless if I cheat or not, this game is still gonna kick my ass.

Downloaded Lock’s Quest. With an award from IGN saying that it’s the best Strategy Game of E3, it’s interesting enough to denote a play through. Nothing like defending the castle games.

Rock Band 2 is getting pretty fun. Challenging, but fun. Just got my Worldwide Promoter, so I just got the last few places to play at. Go figure, the game screws me over preventing me from accessing the Rolling Stone set by ONE FUCKING STAR. Meaning, I gotta go play another song before I finish that up. I still gotta get a drum set though. It’s starting to piss me off that I can’t find it.

I’m really hungry right now, so I’m gonna get some yogurt to eat or something… Plus, someone else really needs to update. I’m done until about Saturday or Sunday or so. I’m not updating until then.

Later!

(Ignore this. Read Sousuke’s post below mine.)

Well, are you? I finally got my lazy ass to go and get the skit faces cut. They’re all uploaded so get em’ while they’re hot.

First and foremost, I’d like to formally introduce Rebel and Sousuke to the blog. I look forward to seeing what both of you have to rant about your gaming lives and such. It’s kinda what the whole point of this blog was to begin with.

Secondly, the weather. It was beautiful down here in Jersey for the last couple of days. Now we’re supposed to get rain for the next three. Isn’t that great?

I’ll keep this short as to not force Sousuke’s entry down far. Still working on Kirby Super Star Ultra, got about 21 treasures left. Never collected all of them, so finding them all should serve to be interesting. Gonna try to indulge more in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. I don’t want to be upset with this game. Gonna play Disgaea DS just for kicks as well. Plus some more The Price Is Right. Don’t ask. o_o

As far as my segment goes on this site, I’ll see how my camera situaiton is for Bust-A-Groove. Still gotta burn the CD though. I can’t do direct streams, so I’ll see what I could do.

Done. READ SOUSUKE’S POST, DAMMIT.

I hate Sudbury. But in a way, I love it.

In light of recent weather posts, I’ve decided to follow suit. While Sudbury is a little colder than say, Toronto… I have to say that pretty much whatever weather we get here passes down to Toronto. Which in turn, makes its way to New York and New Jersey. So in the end… I’m on top of the weather ladder, and can laugh at Len and Mach when they get crappy weather. Especially when they get it and I don’t.

But wait! Who am I? Another blogger. Yep, that’s right. Another user to deal with. More for you to read! In any case, you may know me as Yggdrasilly from the Backlog. At this point, I’m not sure what to say–other than what to look forward to from me!

Being my first post, I’m not going to go ahead and fill the page with reviews and the like–that’ll come next time. What am I going to put in here, exactly? Well, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will be one title [or set of titles, technically] to look forward to seeing, as well as Xenosaga. I would write about the Tales Series, but it seems SOMEBODY has already taken care of that one. >_>
