Dammit, Mach! It’s not like you have 6 badges yet, you FOUR BADGE-ER! Anyways, I don’t really have much to talk about, as usual. I’ve really only been wasting my time gaming; playing Pokemon Platinum here an– playing Pokemon Platinum (55 hours is a waste of time, right?!) GYM BADGES ARE EASY TO GET, TAKES LIKE TWO SECONDS TO GET ALL OF THEM MACH! POKEDEX COMPLETION IS WHERE ITS AT! I’m still thinking of something to put in this post. I was actually going to post something else, but I was stopped.  Oh yeah! Free Larvitars for anyone who wants one! Some of them have Bite/Leer, but others have Earthquake/Stone Edge/Dark Pulse/Rock Tomb. I only have like 30, though… Well, that’s all I have on my mind right now… video time..

Most Earthbound fans should have seen this already…. but it’s so awesome that it’s worth another watch…

Yeah, the title is horrible. I know, but I can’t seem to think of anything else for a title. The last time I ranted about anything, was about 20 days ago, so I figure I should have something pent up inside me to release (no sexual pun intended), but yeah, I guess that would be a nice place to start.

Firstly, SOUSUKE, REB, NOI. ANYTHING FROM YOU GUYS? Noi, I know hasn’t had streaming gear for the longest time, so I know that’s something to rant about by any stretch. Reb spends way too much time just standing around doing nothing in Pokemon and by some stretch of saying, “What the hell” for having 50-something hours clocked into the game and ONLY having six badges? And Sousuke… I dunno, go off about how you’re pretty much at the same point as Reb and only have 12 hours clocked into the game? I haven’t chatted with you in a while, so not really sure what you could rant about just yet.

Anyway, FINALLY got my 360 back. After about a month of not having one, I finally saved up enough working at the arcade for a friend. In simple terms to save myself some money and actually buy some games, I bought myself an arcade system and just used the hard drive I had from my last console and transfered it over. Afterwards, I had $82 ($74 after that delicous Bacon Chicken Ranch sandwich at Subway) to buy games with. After traveling with Blinkin (a friend of mine) to five different Gamestops, two Targets, and a Wal-Mart, somehow, he walked away with more substance than I did the whole day.

My haul ended up being Halo 3, .hack//G.U. Vol 1 – Rebirth (finally <.<), and a MS Points card with 1600 points. All in all, cost me about $65 dollars or so? I don’t 100% recall. As for my friend? Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Red vs. Blue Seasons 4 and 5,  and iRobot. costing him a cool 27ish dollars. At one of the Gamestops we hit up, they had a sale on DVDs. Buy one, get two free. He took advantage of that, picking up the only season of Red vs. Blue that none of my friends had. I might head back to that one just to pick up the 3rd and 5th season myself, as well as pick up The Boondocks (Season 1). :)

So gaming wise, what I have I done lately. A lot with my 360 since I got it back. Been playing some Halo 3 alone and with some friends. Played two rounds with Dan… Clearly, he’s the better player since in every match, he got more kills than I did… Mirror’s Edge, I borrowed from a friend. Interesting game, frustrating controls, and half the time, I have no idea where the fuck to go. However, I’m trying to get the Test of Faith achievement (Completele the game without shooting an enemy). It should be easy for me under this condition.

I completely forgot how to disarm an enemy.

But slowly completing that over time and stuff. Bits of Call of Duty 4… And for some reason, a lot of Sega Superstar Tennis. I got it with the Arcade system, so if anyone is wondering if I actually bought this game separately, I didn’t. Although, the Curien Mansion stage is probably what hooked me. For those of you who don’t know what the Curien Mansion is, it’s from House of the Dead.

I should probably wrap up my thoughts here since I have to head to class in about 10 minutes. Here’s a closing thought, though. I was looking at the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom article on Wikipedia just so I could learn the names of the Tatsunoko characters I use (since they’re pretty much the only characters in the game I actually use. Screw Capcom, you’ve failed to put Talbain in another game). While searching for the names, I came across the Final Boss name and stuff.

What the hell. The final boss of the game is from Okami?

Mind blown.

Oh, and story is coming along. School work is a bitch.

Until then, later~

And now for something completely random… Here’s something for you to watch while I’m typing up Chapter Two. Give it one more day or so and I should have that chapter wrapped up. I’ve decided to progress against my best judgment so I could keep up with everyone else. I’ll just type down any key points in my game that I should note as this story is being made.

Original props to SailorDaravon on Gamingforce for posting this trailer is his journal.

Honestly, you can’t make this shit up.

I’m completely at a loss for words about how awesome this is and I encourage everyone to watch it even if you can’t understand it when it’s released.

I’ll stop doing these one liners to waste space and finally just post up the damn video so you people could just watch it already.

Love it, embrace it. Search it up on Google to find out more about this:

Until then, later~

Dammit, it’s been cold here lately. Only God Arceus knows why. It’s been bothering me for quite a bit actually. It’s already Spring and we’re still seeing snowfall. Maybe it’s because the weather in Snowfall is finally drifting down south, but it just seems a little pecuiliar that it would happen now of all times.

On top of things that have been pissing me off as of lately, I suppose I could include this Egg that was left at my doorstep last week. It’s slightly mysterious only to the point that I recognized the handwriting on the “annonymous” note, but that’s not important. He couldn’t have just given me the egg in person though? The only mystery left is what’s inside this egg.

Oh, by the way, the name’s Vincent Kiba. Everyone just calls me Kiba though.

Claw Marks #8 – Homosexual Love Scene (Hands Up [Your Shirt] Remix) and Wahoo! March 20, 2009

Whoo. Long title is long, huh?

It was weird seeing no one update for a week, and I’ll probably have a big update coming this Sunday or Monday regarding Pokemon Platinum progress and crap. So, in the meantime, here’s some music.

Yeah, it’s another Renard Klippa upload, but I’ve seem to take a liking to both songs. I kinda got the idea for this claw marks after seeing Kilometers/Miles’ backloggery page with all the Klonoa stuff. So what does these two songs have to do with Klonoa?

The “Wahoo!” sound, of course.

Homosexual Love Scene (Hands Up [Your Shirt] Remix) was a track originally developed by Benn Jordan, who some of you might know as The Flashbulb. According to Renard’s description, “…dunno if he ever actually released Homosexual Love Scene on any discs or if it was just demo / thing he tossed around as part of his volumes of ‘miscellaneous shit’ as he calls it.”

Listen to it. The song is actually pretty catchy.

Wahoo! consists mostly of Klonoa “Wahoo”ing throughout most of the song… It’s happy, it’s poppy. Enjoy it.

No fancy picture, here’s a download link:

Sousuke #14 – DO NOT WANT March 13, 2009

Well, I promised Mach that I’d make a post Wednesday night, and now it’s Friday evening… The second Friday the 13th that I mentioned in my previous post, actually. Ah well. I’m not superstitious or anything, it’s just fun to point out sometimes.

Originally on Wednesday, I was supposed to play some Gunbound with Dan and Chris from Board the Platforms, and that was going to be a part of the post, but… Well, I ended up having to leave home early, and it turns out they didn’t end up doing it anyway. It’s a great little game though. I haven’t played it in probably 2 years or so now. If you liked the Worms titles though, it has similar gameplay, the same idea: destroy your opponents using various weapons, angles, and such. Do check it out, if you haven’t already. You can also message me in-game at Yggdrasilly, of course.

Last week I sold a couple of games that I don’t play, and got about $160 for them. I was actually hoping to save it to pick up the Rock Band 2 kit for 360, because I’ll be moving into my own place soon, and I’ll actually have room for it. But then… I walked into Future Shop, which was a Bad Idea™. I ended up buying an XBL Messenger kit, the one that has the controller-keyboard, a 12 month XBL card, headset, and PGR4. I don’t see myself playing it much, but for the price of the package, it was well worth it. Separately they would’ve cost me a lot more.

Also ended up grabbing Soul Calibur 4 [Limited Edition]. I poured a ton of time into creating characters, such as Colette from Tales of Symphonia, Albel from Star Ocean 3, and Isaac and Felix from Golden Sun. I’ve probably filled up half of my 50 character slots already. XD

Aside from character creation though, I’ve poured about 10 hours into the game since I got it on the weekend. And to be honest, I haven’t really had any time to play it this week. Those 10 hours were over the first day or so, heh. I’ve been working my way up the Tower of Lost Souls, and it’s pretty tough. Maybe I just have to build my characters better. Also, damn you Floor 11! I spent a ton of time trying to get that one… When I finally got it, it was pure luck: my health bar was completely empty, and I had just reached the final opponent [Angol Fear] and as she ran at me and attacked, I moved and she fell off the edge.

I really, really should get back to writing my Hey! Listen! segments. I miss them. Seeing Rebel replaying some of the Zelda games has made me want to go back and play through Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask again. I might do that [maybe a Master Run!] in the near future, so stay tuned for progress on that. Until then though, I leave you with this. I want one. …Or 24, as is the case.

As I would so duly call the title, Bang! In The Groove players would know the reference.

To start off my post, the iced coffee tasted like shit. The Dunkin’ Donuts staff messed up twice. Yeah, it’s gonna be a bad day today. :(

Congratulate me, I officially talk to damn much. I realize I touched up on nothing substancial in the past week, but I’ve got some good ideas for my next few posts, so hear me out, alright?

Firstly, I’ll soon be alternating between three (possibly four, if i feel like it) RPGs come the 22nd. This list includes Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, Final Fantasy VIII, and Pokemon Platinum. The fourth possibly still being Persona 4.  These are the games that I’ll be blogging my progress in with my new category segment, mach_gamelog.exe. Taking a note from several people who just use their blog to record their progress. This is just my version of it. I’ve decided to add a little substance to it, especially with Platinum.

So what’s my idea with Platinum? Make it into a story. Talk about my whole adventure with my team and my journey to the Elite 4. Occasionally tossing in some guest appearance from several of the other Backloggery trainers, if people are interested in being part of this. I’m trying to decide which Pokemon I’ll be starting with alongside my Chimchar. Most likely, it will be another Riolu… You know, because I’m lame like that and Vincent and Lucian need another little brother, right? I suppose, it’s just kinda weird for me to go through a 4th generation Pokemon game and not lug around my favorite Pokemon. Why make it into a story? Does anyone remember that walkthrough guide back during the 1st generation games that had a walkthrough in the form of a story? The guy who was doing that walkthrough had a Charmander named Charmer or something and then kinda made it as a journal kind of thing to walk users through the game as well as  make it simultaneously entertaining. I’d be damned if someone else rememberd this book as well.

Final Fantasy I and VIII will be some sort of journal thing. I’ll just be recording the progress of the game in some lame ass way or something.

So there was something I wanted to exclusively do with my blog a while back, but then I thought about it… Aren’t all these blogs about community togetherness? I was just gonna do a podcast called Error Report with just my blog, but are any of the other blogs interested in doing a joint one? I mean, it wouldn’t go under the same name that I thought of here, but something… You know, that represents the community.

I’m sure with all the creative minds here, we could chalk up some interesting topics for some hour long episodes or something. I have ideas for it if anyone is interested.

So much for a half-century post… At any rate, have a video:

Here’s to fifty more posts.

Until then, later~

On The Air #1 – Nothing Fancy! March 7, 2009

What’s this?! A new category?! Anyways, getting straight to the point here, because my fingers are kinda numb from Tidal Wave spamming in Vesperia.. On The Air, eh? I’ll keep the description short; I’ll post one of these every month, and it’ll talk about certain video games that are being released that month. So… eh… on to the real deal! By the way, all release dates will be based on NA release dates… and these entries will be based on NA releases too. I swear, Mach, not all my entries are 2000 words! In fact, I have a 500 word entry.  FIESTY MACH BOY! This post might seem a little stiff, but my fingers are stiff (that sounded kind of wrong.) Anyways, let’s start this post up FOR REAL! this time. (damn you, Mach!)

ON THE AIR march ver.

Resident Evil 5 (PS3/360)

This game was obviously going to be on this list. Anyways, Resident Evil 5… Resident Evil 5 stars one of the Resident Evil 1 protagonists, Chris Redfield. It takes place 10 years after the orignal Resident Evil, and it takes place in a fictional African country, Kijuju. It plays like Resident Evil 4, with the behind-the-back perspective going on. There isn’t much to say about Resident Evil 5, that you don’t already know. Resident Evil 5 will be the first Resident Evil game to feature local and online co-op… or at least, easily accessable local and online co-op through the singleplayer story. This means that there will be, you guessed it, an AI partner helping you out. To those of you who aren’t familiar with the Resident Evil 4 gameplay, Resident Evil 4 has… you guessed it… a behind-the-back perspective (or rather, you read it). Resident Evil 4 has its ties to Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 in terms of controls; something people often refer to as “tank controls”. You can rotate your character, you can move forwards and backwards, but you can’t shoot and move at the same time. Oh yeah, you can’t strafe either. In Resident Evil 4, you can aim your gun like how you aim in First Person Shooters (in RE1, you could only aim your gun up, down, or middle). Resident Evil 5 kind of deviates from the controls, offering up to 3 or 4 control schemes, some with the option to strafe (think Gears of War controls, but you can’t take cover and you can’t shoot while strafing). Resident Evil 5 also introduces a real-time menu, rather than a regular menu where the game pauses. Despite this game going in a fairly different direction (bright, sunny areas, multiplayer, strafing), the game promises to be a true Resident Evil game that captures the feel of the series.

Resident Evil 5 comes out on March 13th.

Madworld (Wii)

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one you’re hearing from regarding Madworld (at least I hope I’m not..) Madworld is a violent game. Actually, violent may be an understatement. Madworld plays in 3 colours; black, white, and red. The game takes place in Varrigan City. A group of terrorists known as “The Organizers” have taken over the city, making it the “playing grounds” for a violent show called Death Watch. The protagonist, Jack, is a man with a chainsaw on his arm. Jack is sent to Varrigan City (by the President) to stop Death Watch. …Death Watch is really violent… You can pick up random objects found in the environment and use them to destroy enemies. By destroy, I mean REALLY destroy. In several videos, enemies were killed using a sign. …The pole of it. ….stabbed through their face. This game will feature multiplayer. I don’t know what kind of multiplayer, though. Blah, I don’t know too much about this game… but I do know that if what I just said floats your boat, get it! WorldDude would kick my ass if you didn’t… after reading all that!

Madworld will be released on March 10th.

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (DS)

The boxart for this game is really pretty. Probably the first VP game that DOESN’T star Lenneth (deny this if you will, VP2 starred Lenneth!) The protagonist’s name is Wylfred, son of Thyodor (this game likes replacing vowels with “y”). Wylfred holds a grudge against Lenneth Valkyrie. When Lenneth made Wylfred’s father an Einherjar, it left Wylfred’s family was left in poverty. Wylfred’s sister dies due to poverty, and Wylfred is chosen to become an Einherjar. By becoming closer to the gods, he becomes one step closer to exacting his revenge. ..I guess that’s the gist of the beginning for you! Anyways, Covenant of the Plume doesn’t play like a normal Valkyrie Profile game. It is an SRPG with RPG battles; the same kind of battles that were in the other Valkyrie Profile games. You press A, B, X, and Y to make certain party members attack. Successful attacks build on the EN Gauge that allows you to use attacks called Soul Crushes. The thing that seperates this game from other SRPGs (well, it already sets itself apart from other SRPGs) is the Active Formation system, where, depending on the positioning of the characters. There is another thing called the Goddess Feather, which, upon use, grants individuals a large stat-boost and unique abilities. At the end of the battle, though, the unit…. dies. Don’t worry, though! This isn’t like Fire Emblem! Units only permanantly die if you use the Goddess Feather! Don’t expect them to die when they get struck down in battle.

Anyways, if you’re a fan of Valkyrie Profile, and if you’re a fan of SRPGs, I recommend you get this game on March 17th. Then again, if you ARE a VP fan, you probably ARE going to get it, regardless of what I say.

—————————————————————–

Anyways, that’s pretty much it for the first On The Air! Good hopefully, it was an interesting read.  HOPEFULLY!

No, this is not my idea of a productive article, but rather just a filler until I could think up for something… Or until Reb decides to onslaught the page with a shitload of text (You crazy bastard).

Anyway, this song? You ever see the Let’s Tap! trailer? This is the song. Upbeat, perky, and absolutely wonderful to listen to. So is the rest of the soundtrack.

I’m honestly excited for this game thoguh, probably the quirkiest game I’ve seen Sega release in a while. Japan already has it, but it sucks that we’re not gonna get this until this Summer. Makes me a sad panda. :(

Anyway, despite what you’ve seen on Youtube about the actual length of this song (if you’ve even bothered looking), most of them just ripped it off the website when they had it looping there.

Whatever though, enjoy!
