Repede Limit #4 – funfuzion @ New Roc City, NY April 30, 2009
Posted by Mach in Repede Limit.9 comments
An angry Mach review as of April 30th, 2009.
As everyone who knows me knows, I’m an avid video game player. I like heading to new arcades to take in the scenery of the new area as well as possibly try some games that aren’t available in my area and stuff. It’s kind of fun like that, right?
I don’t normally do reviews on arcades, since I don’t really travel to arcades other than the two I main at all that often, but this place… I couldn’t help but NOT talk about it.
You know… I never thought it was possible for me to rage at an arcade, but my experience yesterday totally reinforced this conversation I had with Hojo the other day. I’m a sucker for going to new arcades and playing a different selection of games that’s different than the arcades I go to. My friends and I ended up going to funfuzion in New Roc City, NY, Not too much further from New York City. So why would we take the hour drive from Jersey to go to this arcade here in New York?
DJMAX Technika… Although 8 on the Break (one of the two arcades I main at) has this machine already, this place picked one up as well. Plus, on Wednesdays, they have this “Wacky Wednesday” deal that provides unlimited gaming for four hours as well as unlimited pizza at their cafe and unlimited Lazer Tag.
Intriguing, am I right? When my friends and I walked in, it looked to be a really promising arcade.

GET FUZED WITH THE FUN. YEAH! BEACUSE EVERYONE KNOWS SPELLING SHIT WITH ODD LETTERS MAKES EVERYTHING TEN TIME COOLER.
This is the first image you see on their website. This place prides itself on having an amazing arcade as well as being able to provide unlimited gaming on any games that aren’t ticket redemption games. It was intriguing to me and my friends as well, but oh man… This was only a set up for disaster.
Len #23 – Spring sucks ass. April 29, 2009
Posted by Ren in Len's Rants.3 comments
God damn allergies. This is why I despise Spring. Sure, some nice anime start airing, but how am I supposed to watch them with fucked up eyes?
Today was quite a splendid day – minus the allergies, perhaps I’m feeling lucky. I hope this feeling is right and I hope things end up good. And if it does, I’m going all-out.
Anyway, posting streak much? Haven’t seen anyone else post lately.
This won’t be a long post, just a slight gaming update. I can’t say I haven’t had the time to play games.. I’m just lazy.
Well, I got the PlayStation 2 version of Dynasty Warriors 6. It’s pretty much a downgraded/updated version of the 360/PS3 versions. They downgrade the graphics and other things, however; they added story modes for a few more characters and gave them new weapons and movesets.
I only got it for Ling Tong. Because I missed his nunchaku from Dynasty Warriors 5. It’s not exactly there, considering he now has a three section staff or a sanjiegun. It’s movement is quite similar to his previous nunchaku. But nothing will beat that. Not ever. His moveset in DW5 was epic.
The loading times are simply horrible, they tear up my heart. I just can’t stand them. ESPECIALLY with 2-players, Jesus Christ. So yeah, after beating one story mode, I pretty much concluded playing the PS2 version.
I also started Ratchet and Clank because I heard it was similar to Jak and Daxter. There are a shitload of R&C games, jeez. It’s nice, but not something I would go crazy over. >_>
Moar later.

Len #22 – What the god damn shizzle. April 26, 2009
Posted by Ren in Len's Rants.13 comments
You guys can bump this down any time you want.
Anyway. GOD DAMN IT. WHAT THE GOD DAMN-
WHY AM I SUCH A LATECOMER?!?
This isn’t random, god damn it. Well – it kinda is.
Suddenly, the GBA is blowing my mind. I need to get so many copies of games. SO MANY. I have the ugly ass, old ass Supercard that works with SuperKey and the miniSDs, so yeah. I don’t like the way you save games on that shit. It never works for me. Maybe I’m just doing it wrong. But anyway, so many GBA games I wanna get. But I have to eBay them/dig them up in stores, etc. They’re like $15 a piece or some shit.
- Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
- Golden Sun
- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords
- Final Fantasy VI
- Fire Emblem
- Sword of Mana
- Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
Any more that I should be adding? LIST SOME. COME ON.
Also, Mach is planning to get me Wild ARMs Alter Code F since I can’t find it in any of the Gamestops or stores around Queens. I even checked some stores in Manhattan.
THANKS, MACH. ILY.
I started playing Ratchet and Clank. It’s not too bad so far. It reminds me of Jak and Daxter.
AND FUCKING FUCK, I need to get an actual copy of Persona 4 because burning it 6 times has fucking failed me. Fuck it.

Len #21 – And he won’t stop chasing her.. April 22, 2009
Posted by Ren in Len's Rants.9 comments
Because he’s such a fool. So nonchalantly annoying.
Just about a month or two until I get transfered to a different branch within my company.
It pays less, but hell, I’m going into a career that I want.
Anywho, not too much to rant about at the moment.
For starters, I beat Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES after about 4-5 months. Of course I took rather long spurs of hiatus here and there. I wanted to finish it so badly before Monday hit, so on Saturday, I decided to play it. I thought, “Hell, I can’t be that far from the end now, can I?”
I wasn’t wrong, but shit, I wasn’t right either. I managed to pull a 15-hour marathon to beat that game. The thing was, my party was fine up until the fated boss, “???”. He’s supposed to be easy. HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE. Yet I got my ass kicked SO many times that I was just FILLED with rage, my god. I NEEDED Yukari on my team. Despite how much I didn’t WANT her on my team, I NEEDED her to be the healer.
So I had to basically grind Yukari from levels 41 to 74. It took about 2-3 hours. Fun shit. After that boring grinding fest, I rounded up some Persona and went back to fight the dreaded “???”. I only brought Yukari and Metis with me, though, because when I bring Mitsuru, that bitching boss always changes to her Persona and then kills me so hard with her god damn Mind Charge. Urgh.
Anyway, after that, it wasn’t exactly a breeze, but it was interesting. Yukari was a major BITCH in the Answer, I can say that much. I personally thought the ending was stupid. I enjoyed the Journey so much more.
But I’m glad I didn’t give up on the game.
After that – I burned Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, yay! It’s kind of a laggy-glitchy-ish disc, so I’m going to reburn it sometime on MAX speed. I simply started it, I have to say, the concept is quite intruging so far. MURDER MYSTERY IN THE COUNTRY. Sounds fun.
Chie’s voice is biting at my anus, atm, though.
WHAT ELSE.
How ’bout that Chrono Trigger, eh? I managed to get Magus on my team, yay. Got the doppledoll, so time to bring back you-know-who! Gotta go to the Black Omen. Meh.
There’s this game drifting in my head. It’s just yearning to be played. I can’t quite name it, though.
I WANT A PS3 FOR NU.VESPERIA~.
The movie looks so sexy.

Len #20 – He’s lost faith in me! April 16, 2009
Posted by Ren in Len's Rants.15 comments
Oh noesz! Sorry, somewhere along the line, I simply lost motivation, I suppose. Even though I made that vow! Oh well. Let’s not talk about life. It’s hot n’ cold like Katy Perry. c wut I did thar? But seriously. Anyway, gaming updates. Let’s gogogo.
Like Chao said, gaming-wise, I’ve got a lot to rant about. I’ve been such an ass to him lately. :[ Sorry, hun.
Well, recently this week, I’ve been marathoning Halo 3.. much to my own surprise. I’m not as terrible as I thought I was.
I finished the campaign on Normal and Heroic with friends. The only reason I finished it in the first place was because it’s just too damn boring to do by myself. Plus, I don’t even understand the story.
It’s funny, considering I hate FPS in general. But it made me appreciate the Halo series a lot more, hah.
Prior to that. Actually – months prior to that, I was struck with the devstating RROD. However, that happened in mid-February. I sent my 360 in about a month later. The process is a lot easier than I thought it would be. First, I filed a repair report on the Microsoft site and printed out my shipping label, then I stripped my 360 of its HD and any extra crap I had loaded on it, then I went to UPS and paid about 11 dollars for them to pack it and ship it. I gave them the label, paid, got my receipt and I was done. It was sent on the 17th of March and I got it back on the 30th. Not too bad.
Anyway – prior to my Halo marathon, my friend let me borrow his copy of Resident Evil 5. I must say, I was easily addicted. At first, I thought I wouldn’t bother with it, but one day I was just so bored so I decided to pop it in.
I don’t regret my actions, heh. It was amazing. It felt a lot easier than RE4, but it had its own challenges. But it was really a lot easier. The story had me kind of confused, considering I’m quite the noob to the Resident Evil series, but I eventually caught on. It was really great. Chris was such a sexy beast.
I loved the co-oping presented in the game, as well. And personally, I don’t hate the “stand still and shoot” concept at all. It was fun.
Oh, and I loved the active cutscenes. How you had to mash certain buttons at precise times during the cutscenes to avoid attacks and such.
Of course, nothing beats the major LOL I got from “HELP – LT+RT”.
Wesker was such a sexy beast.
Anyway, after having orgasms from playing Resident Evil 5, I decided to go back and start the series from RE1. I would have started up RE4 again, but my friend borrowed my GameCube memory card. :[
I’ve played Resident Evil for about an hour.
I know these were the “original” controls that “made” the series, so to speak.. but I can’t stand them. “I DIDN’T TELL YOU TO GO THAT WAY, JILL!”
And I know this game is old, but jumping from 360 graphics to PsOne graphics is really horrendous for my eyes. I might purchase Resident Evil REmake for the GameCube. It looks more promising than this one feels.
Let’s see – I played and beat Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I honestly found the SSE or the “story” mode tedious and boring. The final boss was haaard. Meta Knight was my savior.
I HAAAATED how they stripped Mario of his awesome cape spin attack thingy and replaced it with his stupid spray shit from Super Mario Sunshine. IT’S SO USELESS.
My favorite characters to play as, in order: Samus, Pit, Luigi, Meta Knight, Kirby. I hate playing as Link now, I don’t know why. Maybe he lost his glimmer. But I would certainly love to kidnap Toon Link. <3 Can’t wait for that new Zelda game.
Lol, what else? OH. Castlevania Double Pack. I’m loving Aria of Sorrow so far. I’m already lost in Harmony of Dissonance. Yeah.
I still haven’t beaten the Answer in P3:FES yet. God, it’s so tedious.
Oh, Chrono Trigger for the DS. Lovin’ it, but I can’t play it for more than an hour. I get really bored. But short spurs are the best, m i rite?
Teehee. I might play some P3:FES tonight, if I’m bored enough.
That’s it for now.
Cya soon – probably.

Mach #53 – As if I don’t have class at all… April 16, 2009
Posted by Mach in Mach's Rants.add a comment
So being the idiot that I am, I completely forgot that my first class got cancelled today. I rushed to class thinking I was missing something. It was until I got on campus that I realized this. I don’t have another class for the next two hours… So all I’m doing right now is sitting in school’s cafeteria doing almost nothing… So much for my life.
So my weekly update… I would honestly update more if I had more interesting things to say… Or you know, if the other ranters in my blog actually showed some interest in updating… But you know, I gotta hold down the fort for whatever it’s worth still… Maybe I should just fire everyone and get people who actually give a damn. Despite the lack of updates, I still have faith in at least three of you.
I’ve lost faith in the co-owner of this blog. DON’T LET ME DOWN.
Anyway, gaming related crap, right? Bought Jade Empire: Limited Edition for about $6 yesterday at the local independant gamer store around here. If you were in the Backloggery stream last night, you would recall me mentioning this, but it was either that game or Megaman X6. And you know how the Backloggery loves their Megaman X6. However, I held back recalling that X6 was on the Megaman X Collection as well, so for another $6, I could pick it up the other five. While I was there, my cousins picked up Destrega… Whatever that game is..
I also managed to find another independant gaming store in my area as well… Problem is… Its prices.
Why do you ask? They were selling Crash Bash (PSX) for $30.
But I did find a couple of good things out of their rather pricey selection… Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast was one of them. Selling price? $40. I would’ve bit into it a long time ago, considering one thing. I already own the Gamecub version. So what do I do? Pick it up for rarity sake or just let it slide?
Another gem of a find was Star Fox for the SNES. Don’t know the price since it wasn’t labeled, but I will inquire about it the next time I go. I still gotta look for a good conditioned SNES though… The one my friend replaced crapped out on me. So… I have a lot to buy…
Still gotta see if they have Project Justice there or something. If there’s one game in the world I’ve always wanted a legit copy for, it’s this game.
Pokemon Platinum progress? Kinda slow right now since I’ve been busy with my cousins being at my place for the next month, so I haven’t had a lot of time to pick it up. I’ve figured this. If I’m gonna post up my story, I might as well compile all my data first and then type the story out. So until
, my story will be on hold. Shouldn’t be that long considering I do intend to actually beat this.
In unrealted gaming news, I have to start registering for classes again for my Fall seemster here in College. Why would I mention something like that? I’m writing for my school newspaper. One of my friends told me, on the way to my advisor’s office, that she’s the editor in Arts and Entertainment. Considering I’m a Print Journalism major and I want to break into the Video Game Journalism industry, this would be a great opportunity to hone my skills in professional gaming journalism.
When the year starts and I start writing stuff, I’ll most likely crosspost it here on the blog… You know, considering it’s still alive for that long. As I said, it would help if people update, but beggars can’t be choosers, right?
Wrong. They definitely can, considering the beggar runs the damn blog. Someone update later on in the week, please.
To end this rather lengthy post, I now stream. Check it out.
I’m probably gonna stream after Backloggery streams or whenever I feel like it. I can only do PC related stuff until I could get my own capture card, so I’m willing to do any emulation requests. Favorite me and watch me when I play. I’d appreciate it.
Until then, later~

Spectro #9 – I’m still kickin’ [ass] April 8, 2009
Posted by Spectro in Spectro's Rants.4 comments
Yeah, I’m alive. At the beginning of March I got back into World of Warcrack, so.. yeah. That’s why I’ve been gone.
Does anyone else play? I know it’s a pain in the ass to come to a different server once you’ve gotten comfortable with your current character, and it costs $25 to move the damn thing, but if you’re lonely and all by yourself I’m on Mannoroth. I’m leveling a few different characters at once, but my main is Spectro. He’s a midget mage. >:D Give me a shout on my backlog or send me an IM on any of the messengers I use if you want to play with me. I usually forget to check the comments here.
I was also telling Derkomach that I got my 360 softmodded, so I’ve been playing a lot of burned games. Anyone got any suggestions for games I should download? Also, I’ve been debating whether or not to add my burned games to my backlog with the little “Other” symbol. I may end up doing it just so I can keep track of what I’m playing. It’s nice to be able to save some money. Now maybe I can buy some more Final Fantasy games for Noi’s marathon that I’ve been waiting months for.
I wanted to touch on something. Take a look at this if haven’t already: [link]
Done reading? Okay, WTF CAPCOM. I know this is a rumor, but I knew that other publishers had done this before. Kotaku provides a link to an article from 2006 where some older 360 games used unlock keys that you had to pay for to unlock content already on the disc you’ve already purchased. This disgusts me. This disgusts me even more than buying levels and shit on Vesperia. I don’t know what else to say about this.. I mean I’d love to boycott the Versus DLC, but I want to kill some friends as Wesker.
I apologize if this is poorly formatted and/or has bad grammar. It’s been a while since I actually tried to write something. Hell, my last blog was what? Beginning of February?
P.S. Someone remind me to attend Noi’s stream. There’s one on Saturday right?

Mach #52 – As if I don’t have class in the next 15 minutes. April 6, 2009
Posted by Mach in Mach's Rants.4 comments
So there I am, sitting at the mall, eating Taco Bell, thinking to myself, “Fuck, I’m totally not gonna be able to finish this Crunchwrap Supreme. I know this was made to go, but this person sure did a horrible job folding this shit.” And I look at my cell phone at the time…
It’s 1:45 PM. Fuck, I totally have class at 2:00.
I leave the mall at 2:00, arrive at class at 2:30. What a day so far.
Anyway, rant time. Mostly in gaming news and stuff, so it’s relevant to what this blog is about. So let’s get started shall we?
The Gamestop Game Days sale. If you haven’t seen the list, you should. The list isn’t as amazing as it was last year but there are a couple of games that people should watch out for since they’re that worth it (or at least I think so). In bold is what I actually plan to purchase. If not, it’s just worth noting.
- Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS) – $19.99
- Metal Slug 7 (DS) – $14.99
- Final Fantasy I (PSP) – $9.99
- Final Fantasy II (PSP) – $9.99
- Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (PSP) – $9.99
- Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (360) – $9.99
- Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) – $29.99
So why do I note Guitar Hero in this? They currently have a deal where you could get a free wired X-Plorer Guitar if you buy one either the Aerosmith Bundle, Aerosmith (Game Only), or Guitar Hero: World Tour Bundle. So since the game is only $10, the guitar itself is only $10. Trade the game back in, the guitar is essentially $5. Great deal, huh?
You’re insane if you own a PS3 and not buy Valkyria Chronicles. Buy it now.
As far as the other two games I plan to get, simply, just because they were expensive before, they’re cheaper now, so why not, right?
Gaming progress? Pokemon Platinum, I’m currently training. Mainly to just overshoot everything I’ve been doing and stuff. Level 40+ team before the 6th badge, so that Cyrus is easier to rape. God Hand has seen some light and I’ve reached the first check point. Call of Duty 4 has seen light as well and I hope to complete this campaign as soon as I can, but why the hell did I decide to play it on Hardened? Fuck…
Halo 3 is for when people feel like facing me and why did I buy Alien Homnid? I’m so bad at the game. Maybe this will see a
someday. Damn you deals for being so cheap and wanting me to get all the characters in Castle Crashers.
Anyway, seems like that’s enough for me. As for the story? I’ve gotten lazy, but I do want to shoot some extra time into it when I have more time to do it and stuff. Don’t worry, it will see a release this week. Hopefully…
Until then, later~
