Well, this is it. This marks my last traditional post on DRE. You’re heartbroken and you’ve got questions, I know. Stop those tears and read on.

I’m not flat-out leaving or anything. I’m just migrating over to a new blog, Board the Platforms. As you may or may not have known, Arc was set to join DRE. That’d make eight people here. Count ‘em. Eight people, one blog. Talk about crowded. Granted me and Mach are the only ones who usually update more than once every week or two, but still. That’s a bit too cluttered if you ask me.

That got a train of thought rolling and eventually the idea of starting another damn a group blog came about. Thus, Board the Platforms was born. Myself, Arcadios (Arc), BluFin (Blu), Linkman (Chris) and Zeta. The two main reasons I’m moving from DRE to BtP are 1) I figure this will be in everyone’s best interests (DRE goes down to 6 guys instead of going up to 8, so hopefully that encourages the other DRE ranters to post more now that I won’t be around), and 2) Chris, Zeta and Arc are all long-time friends of mine… and I mean long-time. “Years-before-The-Backloggery” long.

Yeah, I know I could do like Noi and post on two blogs, but I’d rather just stick to one and one alone, otherwise I’d no doubt resort to making copypasta posts down the line. As per Mach’s decision, all the content I’ve provided for DRE will remain intact. Rants, reviews, all of it.

If you’ll think back to the intro of this post, I said “last traditional post.” Mach’s got some ideas cooking for guest articles or something of the sort, so I doubt this is the last time you’ll see my post here period or anything.

Anyway, all that said… So long, DRE. Don’t be strangers, okay?

Fucking people up in No More Heroes is a joy in life I take pride in tasting. It’s the type of game where you want the game play to be repetitive because you can’t get enough of it.

And that’s what I’ve been mostly playing. I’m towards the end. All I need to do now is get enough money for the final entry fee and then I’m off to fight Rank 1. Right now I got the majority of Gold medals done both for regular jobs and assassin jobs ‘cept like 2 that are still on Silver. I got all the beam katanas and they’re all maximized, even the one part for Tsubaki Mk-III that cost me 999,999LB.  (more…)

It’s spreading…faster than any virus and ten times as deadly. So…how many games did my Backlog grow since my last post? Let’s make a list, shall we?

1. Bit. Trip Beat for VC
2. Punch Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream for VC
3. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for VC
4. Super C for NES
5. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for PSP
6. Chrono Trigger for DS
7. No More Heroes for Wii

So…7 new games added within a week…and with that I become multiple steps closer to becoming a minion of . But that’s not all. I’ve tried to protect myself from infection by progressing in defeating it as well. Baby steps. I took Final Fantasy VII’s  and turned it into a . Took out Ruby and Emerald Weapon using a loop effect with Cloud. Was pretty easy since I did it once, came back in about 20 mins and they were beaten and then I moved onto beating Jenova Synthesis, Bizzaro and Safer Sephiroth. I also Super Mario Bros. 2 for NES. I would’ve liked a on it but I got up to World 4 and died multiple times and lost all my retries so I said fuck it and went for a instead using Warp Pipes. (more…)

I’ll go /v/ on this post first.

Let me speak on my recent experience with a wonderful game that has brought me joy, happiness, anger and despair. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. A game with enough grace to make any man, woman and child into a Zelda fan. Well me….this game experience has been one giant beautiful and ugly struggle that has taken hold of me with the grip of death. I have failed twice to finish this game due to incidents beyond my control.

My first experience was when I emulated it on my computer but then I suddenly caught a virus when I was descending toward Great Bay. I had to flush my computer out to it’s default everything and my game data was erased with everything else.

A couple of months ago I bought Majora’s Mask for the N64 thinking it would be my safest course of action to insure a wholesome and problem free gaming experience with this magnum opus but alas. When I finally get to playing it all it shattered when it continuously froze on me whenever I played The Song of Time which many of the people that have played it should know that it is the song that allows you to permanently save any progress you’ve done and save any item of importance while the regainables like rupees, bombs and arrows are lost.

I have made attempts to save it. I thought I had done it. I thought I was finally able to continually play Majora’s Mask without any problems but fate is a cruel vixen. With a slap across my face, the game froze on my once again as I was unfreezing the old Goron in the frozen lake that lead to the Goron Village. That broke my will right there and then. Why now? Why this specific game to ruin for me? Why me? Well fuck it. Not gonna let this get me down. I will stop at nothing. I will Majora’s Mask…eventually.

Hmmm…let me get shallow in the beginning of this post. No, this isn’t about any of the Persona games so don’t get your hopes up.

Recently…I’ve been seeing myself as the person I really am. Idiotic, lazy, unproductive, disloyal, etc. Crap load more of personality traits society view as bad. Now those are coming up as I am alone. When am I alone? More than I want to. All I do is stay home or work. Shitty lifestyle. completely voluntary though.

Thing is though. I view myself as pathetic. I mean…I don’t have a single thing to my name other than an alias and non existing reputation where it matters. There’s nothing really interesting about me. My only hobbies right now are watching animu, reading manga and playing vidya. Barley any passable hobbies to make conversation with. Things I’d let people be oblivious to. Only shit I’ve done in my life that has to do with education is that I finished high school. Nothing to be proud of since it’s forced on us. I would go on but it’d be moot. You get the point. So, what do I want to be? (more…)

Ah, yes. Now I am 1/3 of a poser. All I need are the skills and the image. I can settle for 2/3. The one that counts, of course.

Sad truth is how I’d love to get lessons from an actual guitarists that knows his stuff, I can’t afford it since most of the people I’ve seen charge a chunk of what little my pay check offers me per week so I’ll go the money savers route and rolls with lessons…on youtube. As long as I know what I’m doing, right?

Fucking Crap.

I owed my community college $700 since the last semester I went but never paid it off. So I finally got around to paying it…sorta. My friend lent me his credit card so basically I just transferred over to who I owed but better my friend then having a damaged credit record. But that’s $700 on top of the $300 I still owe him.

Same day, I go check out my car because I heard a noise while driving. Went to my dad’s repair shop and had it test driven. Seemed like I need new breaks, discs and calipers for all four wheels and that amounts to $1,000 in costs.

With a shit 10 buck per hour job that only has 2 work days a week earning pathetically around $150 per week on average doesn’t seem like it’ll help much.

So…late again. They should have me fired as a main fighter and put my aside as a comatose patient.
Yet…again…nothing new in life. Just less work, chilled for a bit with some old friends and more stay at home; which means more anime or in this case…House. Been staying off Sailor Moon cause there’s this one episode that has this…ancient way of subbing that has the words appear one by one as the person speaks. It’s kinda sickening so I’m avoiding it for now.

Another week, another Filler Arc episode. A bit delayed but better than never!

But this week seemed like a dry one. Nothing happened in my personal life…well except for me being sick with…some kind of virus but it passed. Had a fever, on going mucus, my eyes were strained and hurt, headaches and a whole bunch of crap. Not good but it did pass. Only worked two days this week, yesterday being in the morning from 11AM to 6PM. A lot earlier than my usual shifts but I was too tired to post yesterday so mai bad. ;_;

DRE wise, I’m loving the new theme. Hope you guys don’t mind my part. ;A;
One thing I don’t like is how the space for the posts has gotten just a tiny bit thinner. I gotta bump down my pictures from 80% after a resize to 70%, you guys might not notice though. ;A; (more…)
