Kiba’s Wolfpack #4 – Sonic Boom November 11, 2008

Since no one has really bothered to update. It’s time to update with another lame stepfile from me. This song was amidst my huge Sonic stepfile chain and themes I had everywhere. I particularly liked the song, simply because it was just an awesome song period. Unfortunately, there’s not much you could really do with the file, which is why it gets an easy 8. Mostly just full of short streams and steps going with the lyrics.

Art credits once again go to Tigerfog. His awesome art works for another one of my stepfiles.
Feel free to bump down this post.

Kiba’s Wolfpack #3 – ASKA -Invasion- October 6, 2008

As I said last night, I’m releasing another file from from the r21freak Friendship Pack. This was the second file I gave in for the pack.
The song isn’t really by 2MB (for those of who you play DDR at all should know the name), but it’s a really decent fan made remix. This song was from nDDRo’s DDRMAX3 pack. The pack itsef had a great selection of songs, but the worst steps I’ve ever seen attached to a music file… Worse than some of the crap I’ve seen on r21freak.
This was one of those files that had a great song attached to it, but lacked good steps, so I took the liberty (and the two months) to step it. For the most part, the steps go with the music and the little bass part in the BG. Starts off at a solid 170 BPM and then doubles up and blazes at 340 BPM towards the middle. At the direct end, of the song it almost comes to a complete slowdown at 54 BPM for the last two measure.
The real dilemma with this song is what speed to read it at. I usually have trouble myself trying to decide. Do I stay on the safe side reading it at 1.5x so I could read the 340 BPM part but sacrifice being able to read the 170 BPM part early on, or do you read it at 2x to read the 170 BPM part and then read the 340 BPM at a blazing 680 BPM?
That’s for you to decide.
Art was created by the people at nDDRo and full credit is given to them. I only re-stepped the song.

Kiba’s Wolfpack #2 – WE’LL NEVER FIGHT ALONE!! October 5, 2008

Screw this, I’m putting Repede on the left from now on. I can’t get him aligned properly on the right.
Anyway, another file from yours truly. This file was released in r21freak’s Friendship Pack. Because this song was so short, I didn’t exactly want to make it incredibly easy for everyone to Quad Star or AAA (whichever way you wanna put it), so a couple of speed related gimmicks are thrown into the file. They work with the music, but you just have to know when to catch them and everything. Again, I like the song for this one, but I don’t think it’s the pinnacle of my work. I definitely could’ve done a lot better on this one.
The song is from the Yggdra Union Soundtrack. There’s a couple of others on that soundtrack that I wanted to step, but I don’t feel like doing it right now… I’ll be releasing another file I made for the Friendship Pack tomorrow as well. I just didn’t feel like packing everything into one post.

Kiba’s Wolfpack #1 – Crush 40 – Escape from the City… City Escape September 29, 2008

Special category go! Might as well release some stepfiles here that can
be used for Stepmania as well as any r21/r23 enabled In The Groove 2 machines.
Why is it called Kiba’s Wolfpack? My tag that people started knowing me more commonly as at the arcade I play at was KIBA. Although many of them know my real name, they’ve gotten too used to it and continue to call me by my former tag name (and they still do). WOLF is my current tag, hence the pack name. No one calls me Wolf though.
Here’s one I’ve already released at r21freak.
Crush 40 – Escape from the City… City Escape | Length: 2:23 (NOT R23 SAFE) | Expert – 10
This is one of my more lame files, but it gets the job done.
I was tired of finding City Escape simfiles done horribly online. Since I was getting more familiar with making stepcharts, I figured I should take a whack at this song and do it myself. Pretty much goes with the instrumentals in the music and it does tend to get a little repetitive, but overall, it’s still a very fun file. Since my first release of the file, I’ve re-synched it a couple of times, but it should be alright now. I have to test this at an arcade with a working USB port, but I’m pretty sure I’m on for this one.
As far as the steps go, for anyone who has the stamina to do a couple of gallops for about two minutes and deal with small bursts of streams should be just fine.

As far as an acutal rant for me, that will probably come tomorrow during my class or something to save me from boredom.
