So right now I’m in the process of watching Umineko no Naku Koro ni Episode 17. It’s pissing me off. Why? Because why the fuck is Beatrice being such a little bitch? Seriously, with the cruelty of killing all of those people in vicious ways, she’s pouting so much because she’s getting lectured by Battler the faggot? Oh, come on. It feels so out of place and out of character. She’s like a child. I know they haven’t really gone over her past yet, but come on! It feels so stupid. He won’t acknowledge you so you have to bitch and cry about it and beg for forgiveness? This makes me want to stop watching this episode because it’s getting annoying. And no, I don’t like Battler’s character. Even K1 was better. He’s a faggot. Anyway, I like Higurashi better because this shit is annoying me. Don’t get me wrong, Umineko was interesting enough for me to watch past ten episodes, but argh, despite the absurd themes, Higurashi felt more down to earth. (lol)

Anyway, I have a small rant. I’ve been playing Final Fantasy II a lot recently. I just got out of that fucking annoying ass Deist Cavern. I had to go back and get items. I feel like just unarming everyone and making their punches strong, because for those god damn Hill Gigas (or whatever), Guy is my only savior.

I hate it that my 4th person always leaves my team, makes me not want to care about the 4th person always joining the party. I stopped playing Folklore for now because I got bored of it. As for FFV.. well, I’m occupied with FFII.

I always play quite a few hours into games and then get unmotivated at the middle or end. It’s really silly and I need to break away from that habit.

Anyway, not much else to say. Have a video of awesome K-Pop.

I suppose I should make a post considering I haven’t made one since the end of September. This blog is really dead. I blame all of you, including myself. You included, Mach. But I love each and every one of you. Anyway, loco can post if he wants to now, considering I’ve finally made his “posting sprites”.. or whatever you’d like to call them.

I’m sure you all can guess that school keeps most of us rather busy. Which reminds me, I have an interview tomorrow. I don’t know what for, though. The guy phoned me up with a  private number just as I was about to attend my class. I basically heard mumbling and then he told me to meet him at Dunkin Donuts tomorrow. How shady. Which reminds me, I have to pick out clothes. ._.

Anyway, gaming progress? Well, from the time frame of the end of September to just about now, I’ve beaten Final Fantasy VI. Since I honestly don’t have much to talk about, I’ll just talk about that. Well, yeah. I found the final dungeon of the game to be extensively annoying, hence I kept it on-hold for a rather brief period of time before consulting Sobou. He gave me some freaking awesome tips, saved me from grinding, also (hell, I didn’t even need the grinding).

Anyway, my three teams for the final dungeon were: (1) Terra, Cyan, Locke, Setzer. (2) Edgar, Sabin, Umaro, Gogo. (3) Mog, Celes, Strago, Gau. Too bad I let Shadow die.

It was a swell game. This accomplishment ultimately leads me to beating two out of twelve (I am counting XIII and not XI) mainstream titles in the Final Fantasy franchise. Fuck yarr. VI and VIII down. I, II, III, IV, V, VII, IX, X, XII, and XIII to go. (Don’t worry, by the time XIII comes out, I’ll have only beaten about [at the most] two more mainstream titles..)

Which leads me to my next rant, Final Fantasy V!

With the beating (I refrain from the use of the word “completing” as my joining of the Backloggery has since deluded the meaning of the word for me) of FFVI, it gave me a surge of Noi’s “Final Fantasy Marathon”.. of course, that won’t last. But, anyway, I felt the need to get more into the series. I’ve pretty much played all of the Final Fantasies now.. I believe… however, I have only beaten two. What a shame.

I started FFV. However, I have a feeling that it will take a while to beat. Why? Well, I’m lazy. And I don’t like the job system. Believe me, the simplistic story intrigues me more than one might think. But anyway, I don’t like the job system. Don’t ask why, I’m quite unsure of that myself.

I’m off to find the Fire Crystal. obtw, my main character’s name is Butts. lol.

Oh, oh. I’ve also started Folklore. I can safely say that this game is fulfilling my expectations (although I expected the story to be much more compelling or at least remotely interesting..) with the gameplay. It feels pretty good to beat the shit out of monsters with other (possibly weaker) monsters and then absorbing them and using them as weapons. It feels like Pokemon. IT DRIVES THE SOUL.

Anyway, before I update on whatever I’ve done this past week, I’m going to do a stupid girl rant. So.. I got this god damn fucking hair straightener on Friday. It was great. My hair looked awesome. A bit too emo, though. I decided to tone it down, but anyway, it’s fun messing with a hair straightener. I washed my hair, then I tried straightening it again, it was fine.. but it looked too normal. The god damn back of my hair keeps curving at the edges, no matter how many times I try to straighten it, it won’t stop. ._. God damn it. It doesn’t look that bad. But still. I bought it so that my hair wouldn’t curve at the edges. ; – ; ANYWAY, gamesz + anime.

Today is my religious holiday. Happy Eid! Although, frankly, I couldn’t care less. It just gives me a fucking excuse to wake up early on Sunday, which I have a rather strong aggression towards. Waking up early really sucks. This also reminds me that I need to work on Loco’s characterset thing.. SO GET TO CHOOSING WHOM YOU WANT. Just until we move onto that next theme. I need to download Photoshop CS3 again. o_o Got my laptop back, afterall.

Oh, I know this doesn’t remotely relate to gaming in any way, but I’m reading a book called Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It’s really fucked up and twisted. Simply because it’s like you’re jumping into the mind of a pedophile. It’s… apparently where the terms “loli” and “lolicon” derive from. Oh, Japan. Although, this originated from Russia, lawl. It’s basically about a middle-aged man that becomes quite obsessed and fascinated with a 12-year old girl. He lusts after her and has fantasies about her. He’s into little girls.. it’s really, urgh. I’m only about 70-pages in so far.

ANYWAY. Gaming.

I beat Dissidia. Pretty much grinded Cloud to the 90’s, so the final boss wasn’t that difficult. Surprisingly, grinding is rather simple in that game, not very time consuming, either. It’s actually quite fun. Well, to me, anyway. >_> It urged me to play the rest of the Final Fantasies, but that’s kind of a stretch. They’re really time consuming, and I’m really lazy. But I’ll do my best!

Which brings me to Final Fantasy VI. Yeah, yo, totally still playin’ that game. It’s fun. For being the main character, Terra doesn’t really show up much. Or maybe it’s because I’m only like 9 hours in. Everyone seems to debate about who’s the main character of FFVI, but the plot revolves around Terra.. and she was also featured as the main for FFVI in Dissidia.. so I’m just going to label her as the main character. Locke is cool and all, but he’s really.. boring.

I just finished up the Opera House segment of the game. Jesus, that shit wasn’t fun at all. I had to go back and fetch Edgar to add onto my team. ; – ; I want my Terra back!~

I need to start up Persona 4 again.. I left off somewhere… after Yukiko’s castle.

Oh, games. How I neglect you so!

This is how I spend my Sunday nights.. or better yet, Monday mornings. It’s 1:28 AM and I’ve got class at 8 AM. I’m supposed to wake up at 6 AM. This is what I get for being a lazy ass and sleeping until the afternoon. Oh well, at least I’m off on Tuesdays, so when I get home from classes, I’ll probably be napping. Shame that I get home 6-7 PM, though.  T_T

In other news: I’m really looking forward to that new theme.

Man, I am hoping that Tales of Vesperia PS3 gets a US release. I will be so happy and so satisfied if it does. The new costumes ignite a passion within me.. CHLOE, IN MY ESTELLE? LEGENDIA? IN MY VESPERIA? Flynn in a Cless costume .. hmm.. it’s actually quite fitting. Especially with his “JUSTICCCEEE” persona. Yuri in a Judas costume, urgh. I never liked Judas or Leon to begin with, so that’s pretty “eh” to me. RITA IN A MAO COSTUME IS LAWLS. Karol in a Lloyd costume is wut. But then again, he pretty much looks like a child version of Lloyd. Er, I forgot Judith and Raven’s and I can’t be bothered to look it up so early in the morning.

Anyway, currently on my “Now Playing” list, I’ve been alternating between three games: Final Fantasy VI, Dissidia Final Fantasy, and Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

I’m actually surprised at the amount of time I’ve put into Dissidia, mostly because it feels like I haven’t really played that long. WHAT, 23 HOURS IS A LOT FOR ME. Especially since I lack the essential motivation needed to contribute towards a game. I also wasn’t that impressed by it, but lately, I’ve become addicted. It’s strange. I’ve pretty much finished all of the heroes stories (the Destiny Odysseys). I’m doing Shade Impulse now, which apparently is the main story. Story? What story? They’re just throwing excuses to give the FF heroes a reason to fight. As I expected, the story is butchered, cluttered, and boring and their rather weak “reasons” are only excuses for character development, if you could even call it that.

But it doesn’t hurt to see all of the heroes working together. This game will spawn a crapload of yaoi doujinshi and Terra gang-rape btw.

However, the gameplay is something else, I won’t lie. I became addicted simply because of that. OF COURSE I USE CLOUD BECAUSE HE IS CHEAP AND I WANT TO HURRY UP AND BEAT THE GAME, LAWL. Aside from Cloud, I’ve become interested in Cecil’s moveset, though he can be quite slow. I hate his stupid Paladin form, dammit.

ANYWAY, this recent Dissidia indulgence brought upon me starting Final Fantasy VI for the SNES.

I’ve always heard that it was the best FF in the series, but I never was interested. But shit, Kefka is such a BADASS. I’m only 5 hours in, so I can’t say much, but so far, lovin’ it.

As for P2, not much development there. I started it.. it moves slow in the beginning.. actually, I’m not quite sure whether or not I’m still AT the beginning (5 hours in here, too). But – I have to head to Eiikichi’s high school now and beat some kid up. Awesome. The battle system hasn’t really sucked me in yet, BUT I’LL GET THERE, EVENTUALLY. So far, I’m liking it. Oooh yeah.

Also, if you haven’t read my faglog’s notes, I threw in some “Franchise Progression” thing in there. It’s made of win.

So yeah. Tales of VS. is out. And of course, like the cheap, inconsiderate, despicable, little asshole I am, I decided to attempt to pirate it. But that’s only because it’s not yet out in America. I had an extreme desire to play the game immediately, so I went ahead and downloaded the .ISO (basically, the game) and threw it on my PSP. I anticipated engaging in the game eagerly, but of course, my thirty-minute dream was crushed. Way to go, Namdai! Anti-piracy block things FOR THE WIN.

Custom firmware is an asshole. It hates me. And god dammit, Namdai USA, bring ToVS here already. I WANT TO PLAY IT OH SO BAD. And use my supercilious kung-fu combo. I’D LIKE TO CALL SENEL AND FARAH THE MISUNDERSTOOD HERO AND HEROINE OF THE CENTURY. (Although, that’s actually not the case at all.)

And also, I’m bringing a new review format to the table. Of course, my little brain has to work on it. Sit tight if you care enough to read my reviews. Meh, writing my reviews in my rants kind of defeats the purpose of my “Violin Grinding” category.

Oh – before I start ranting about whatever, I’m planning on attending the New York Anime Festival next month, hopefully with Chao (Did I even ask you? I asked Ska, lawl.) and a few friends. THAT’S RIGHT, DEV NANA, WE’RE GOING. I’ve never really been to one before, so hopefully it won’t suck.

So after beating Star Ocean: First Departure, I decided to give Star Ocean 2: The Second Story a go. I’ve played it several times in the past, just haven’t actually gotten to er, get into it.

So my first day of college was yesterday, it was terrible.

Boring. as. hell. And the lone wolf in me just won’t die. I’M NOT EMO, just.. unmotivated.

But oh well, I just ordered my books. I really hope I get them soon, I should have done it before hand. SILLY FRESHMAN, I AM. I’m trying to find an anime club, but school just started, and so far, it proves to be rather difficult. But then, there’s a club fair on the 9th, so HOPEFULLY, I’LL FIND ONE. If not, I’ll just make one, lawl. AND WALK AROUND CAMPUS WITH PICKET SIGNS.

I don’t know what we’ll do, though. I GUESS WE’LL JUST WATCH ANIME, LAWL. Mix in gaming, of course.

Wednesday has to be the worst. I have a huge ass 5-hour gap between two of my classes. It’s all because I refuse to have classes on Tuesday. AND I NEED TO FIND A WEEKEND JOB, DAMMIT. Life sure is coming at me fast.

Anyway, I just made this post because there hasn’t been one in ages. We aren’t summer people, apparently.

I still haven’t gotten my laptop back, it crashed from a virus some time ago.

Hay thar. My lazy ass is actually making a post. Oyay. But I always forget what I’m going to talk about. I guess today I’ll do a review of Star Ocean: First Departure considering I beat it like.. yesterday.

Life outside the house has kept me quite satisfied and occupied. I’m spending time with my best friend on the phone and such and last Sunday I went to the beach. It was insanely hot and since I am too cheap and shy to buy and swear a swimsuit, I wore shorts, a 3OH!3 shirt, and knee-high striped socks, which are currently filled with sand. Oh well. I can’t swim, either. It was still fun as hell, though.

It seems people are also still discovering my true gender and identity. Again, I’m sorry. ‘Specially you, Chao. Also, if you hadn’t noticed, there’s a new character to the DRE fighters. Kasu-chan. You’ll get to know more about her when she makes her first post!~

Oh lawl, the other day(well, more like a month ago), I had a huge impulse and decided to waste a shitload of cash on games. That purchase led me to these:

I actually beat Prince of Persia a few weeks ago or so. It was easy, but I really, really enjoyed it. I want the Epilogue so badly, but I have to get a PSN card for that or something. ;__; Oh well, I’ll wait, I guess. I might go over to GameStop sometime next week and get a $20 card or something. I also want to get Flower for PSN because I heard it was sexy.

I have a “SUMMER START/PROGRESSION” list on my faglog, but I haven’t started nor progressed in any of them as of yet. I probably never will. MY BACKLOG IS ETERNALLY UNBEATEN. Laziness is my curse.

Anyway, currently I’ve been playing Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. It’s enjoyable, so far. The shadow concept in this game kind of disappoints me. The dungeon flow seems much better than 3, though, which is fantastic. I’m enjoying it, but I haven’t really progressed much as of yet, I was too busy with Star Ocean.

Why the alias alteration?

Well – it’s a long story. To make it short, my cover has been blown. I’ve been posing as a dude, as a man – 24 years of age for a while now. When in reality, I’m a girl.. I’m 18. Lol, this feels pretty retarded typing out.

I’m truly sorry to those I have offended or hurt because of this. Somehow, this feels really bad. This became something bigger than I ever had imagined it to be. Mach is shocked right now, especially since he’s known me for 5 years - how many years? I’m sorry, Chao. But you know, this “life” I had was fake, not my personality. Of course, my personality is very real. My emotions are also very real, I really was emo these past few months, gone through heart break and all that other crap, but I’d like to think of it as teenage, high school drama.

It’s going to be college drama in the Fall. I really am majoring in English and Education. It’s my heart’s desire to delve into the depths of literature. o_o

Hm, I don’t have a sister, but I DO have a brother who is about 11 years older than me. But he’s practically non-existant to me. There’s not much to say about me, in later posts, you’ll gradually get to know me. Just a note, all the gaming information and whatever else I’ve contributed to this blog were all true. My outputs and opinions on games remain the same, I’m still a Taleswhore, still whatever.

Anyway, why the alias change? It doesn’t feel quite right being “Len” anymore, so hell, why not “Ren”? It’s pretty much the same, especially since there is no letter “L” in the Japanese language. And my middle name is “Rena,” so it fits.

Next theme, I’ll pick a female character. Lol, DRE was never a sausagefest. I’ll post my rig sometime.

Now, onto the gaming news. I -was- going to do a review for either BlazBlue or Heavenly Sword, but god damn, I’m SO lazy.
