No joke, I could be in a completely empty spot, whether it’s a restaurant or a parking lot and for some odd reason, some person ALWAYS decided to sit next to me when they could’ve been in ANY other spot in the whole damn area. What is it about me that’s so compelling that you want to be next to me? Am I that hot? Sorry, I’m already taken!

It happened to me and a friend of mine while we were grabbing some dinner at Burger King. We were the only people in the back area of the restaurant for a good amount of time, another couple walks in, they sit on the complete opposite side and appreciate their privacy. Only moments later, another couple walks in and decides to sit at the table RIGHT next to us. There’s probably thirty other tables you could be sitting at, WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CHOOSE THE ONE NEXT TO US? If it made matters worse, they were an old Asian couple and they were being loud for no apparent reason.

If I’m at liberty to bitch about my own ethnicity while I’m still on a roll, I might as well describe what happened earlier as well. School parking lot. I arrive pretty early so a good section of the parking lot is still free. I decide to park near the middle and to the complete left of me there’s absolutely no cars. Thinking that no one in their right mind would actually park next to me, I swing the door open to find that someone is actually waiting for me to close my door a bit so they could park. In the split second that I was closing my door, I thought to myself, “There’s literally forty-something odd spots to the left of me and you decide to park RIGHT next to me. If I were you, I’d probably park in a spot where no matter which door I opened, I would be able to get out with out worry, but no, you decided to be a bitch about it.”  To any surprise, she was Asian also. Kinda just annoyed that this has been happening all week.

Ugh, anyway, in actual gaming updates for me, it’s been Borderlands, Left 4 Dead 2, and Final Fantasy VII.

Borderlands was a gift from a friend of mine to commemorate something special. In return, I got my friend Super Mario Bros. Wii. I’m about five hours in and liking it a whole lot. Kinda gets lonely considering it IS an online co-op game, but for what it is, it’s still a lot of fun. I’ve just been a bit lazy to play it due to my 360 and my TV not being in the same room, which leads me to my next game:

Final Fantasy VII… I haven’t had a decent run at this game since middle school, so I’ve pretty much forgotten everything about this game there is minus some plot points. In a sort of two night rush, I’ve gotten out of Midgar, gone through Cloud’s past, and now trying to get that lousy skill from the Midgar Zolom. Annoying, but I might as well do everything right on this run, right? Right…?

At least Hardedge fucked shit up in the Shinra Building. Hell yeah.

Left 4 Dead 2 was kind of a quick decision purchase, just so I wouldn’t feel left out for everyone who already had it. By far, it’s a lot more polished than the first game. The little changes they made have made a world of difference. The campaigns are much harder and I’m loving every minute of it whenever I get to play with friends. Moku’s a great teammate, as well as Erebus. Endaso needs to fucking speak more, but as long as he jumps out of the acid, we’ll be peachy.

I’ve been doing a little bit of beatmania IIDX 16: EMPRESS on the side as well because that same friend who got me Borderlands is nudging me to get better now. Trying to get consistent with 7’s and 8’s in the game… Tough road, but I’ll learn to trudge through it. Comes with the package of learning how to play games, right?

Black Friday is coming up as well… As much as I would like to grab something during this day, I don’t really think I could be bothered to get up early, wait in line and risk not getting the item, I don’t think it’s worth all that effort… If anything, there’s Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal going on at Gamestop for the weekend, so I might try to take advantage of that, but after getting let go from my job, it kinda sucks not having that extra cash to throw around, so I gotta watch it this time.

Anyway, I think that’s enough from me. I’ll probably have something to say after Thanksgiving or whatnot.

I suppose I should make a post considering I haven’t made one since the end of September. This blog is really dead. I blame all of you, including myself. You included, Mach. But I love each and every one of you. Anyway, loco can post if he wants to now, considering I’ve finally made his “posting sprites”.. or whatever you’d like to call them.

I’m sure you all can guess that school keeps most of us rather busy. Which reminds me, I have an interview tomorrow. I don’t know what for, though. The guy phoned me up with a  private number just as I was about to attend my class. I basically heard mumbling and then he told me to meet him at Dunkin Donuts tomorrow. How shady. Which reminds me, I have to pick out clothes. ._.

Anyway, gaming progress? Well, from the time frame of the end of September to just about now, I’ve beaten Final Fantasy VI. Since I honestly don’t have much to talk about, I’ll just talk about that. Well, yeah. I found the final dungeon of the game to be extensively annoying, hence I kept it on-hold for a rather brief period of time before consulting Sobou. He gave me some freaking awesome tips, saved me from grinding, also (hell, I didn’t even need the grinding).

Anyway, my three teams for the final dungeon were: (1) Terra, Cyan, Locke, Setzer. (2) Edgar, Sabin, Umaro, Gogo. (3) Mog, Celes, Strago, Gau. Too bad I let Shadow die.

It was a swell game. This accomplishment ultimately leads me to beating two out of twelve (I am counting XIII and not XI) mainstream titles in the Final Fantasy franchise. Fuck yarr. VI and VIII down. I, II, III, IV, V, VII, IX, X, XII, and XIII to go. (Don’t worry, by the time XIII comes out, I’ll have only beaten about [at the most] two more mainstream titles..)

Which leads me to my next rant, Final Fantasy V!

With the beating (I refrain from the use of the word “completing” as my joining of the Backloggery has since deluded the meaning of the word for me) of FFVI, it gave me a surge of Noi’s “Final Fantasy Marathon”.. of course, that won’t last. But, anyway, I felt the need to get more into the series. I’ve pretty much played all of the Final Fantasies now.. I believe… however, I have only beaten two. What a shame.

I started FFV. However, I have a feeling that it will take a while to beat. Why? Well, I’m lazy. And I don’t like the job system. Believe me, the simplistic story intrigues me more than one might think. But anyway, I don’t like the job system. Don’t ask why, I’m quite unsure of that myself.

I’m off to find the Fire Crystal. obtw, my main character’s name is Butts. lol.

Oh, oh. I’ve also started Folklore. I can safely say that this game is fulfilling my expectations (although I expected the story to be much more compelling or at least remotely interesting..) with the gameplay. It feels pretty good to beat the shit out of monsters with other (possibly weaker) monsters and then absorbing them and using them as weapons. It feels like Pokemon. IT DRIVES THE SOUL.

Anyway, I think I need some sleep. Bai. See you again in a few months, probably. (to those who actually read my posts, that is.)

So I came upon a realization. If I really like a game, I’ll play through it until it’s beaten. On occasion, I might drop a game for a while and then pick it up again, but there are times when after dropping it, I never ever pick it up again. Time goes by, and then I when I look at that poor game, waiting to be played, I realize, I didn’t quite enjoy playing the game to begin with. This is the case for most of my currently unfinished games, so, I’m getting rid of them.

Everything that’s on my backlog marked as unfinished is avaiable for sale/trade, with some notable exceptions. I’ll be marking down the games here that I’m perfectly willing to part with, along with conditions and whether or not I’ve had problems with the game before. So it’s been a while since we’ve had an update… A long while for that matter. Lazy ass writers… Nothing to talk about these days? I suppose I shouldn’t talk since I haven’t had much to say myself. School is starting to become a real drag… And I still have to get that Dissidia review done for my school’s paper, so I guess I gotta start cracking on that.

It’s been tough trying to just get shit done lately… Kind of annoying since school is staring to kick my ass and I really have to focus on that, amongst other things now… But hell, it’s a drag, but at this point in my life I couldn’t be happier for reasons I can’t discuss here in this blog.

So what’s been up with me lately?

This god damn game.

So this game has semi-engulfed my gaming life. With almost 200 songs spanning over two discs, it’s a IIDX player’s dream game… Except it’s in pink. Apparently some people have a problem with this, but hell, I’m used to it. It’s a wonderful theme though. The game pushes the limits of many IIDX players and there’s just tons of songs to play. It’s fun as all hell.

Plus, lawl, Bad Maniacs.

Otherwise, nothing else from me. Except the fact that I have to save some money to get me some Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion and then owe a bunch of my friends presents… A lot of them… This includes my best friend, her brother and my own brother… And I have to pay a friend back for a plushie he got me while he was in Disney World…

Anyway, finally beat Dissdia the other day and have been speed grinding with some characters since. There are some characters that have stayed where they are others have moved down in my list. However, because I haven’t unlocked all of the Chaos characters, I’ll only be talking about the ones I’ve played as.

Something else I’m forced to do, although completely my fault, is that I’m gonna be doing another Repede Limit Review on Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Wow, a review on a recent game. Why the change of heart all of a sudden? I have to write it for my school paper, so it will also be edited if need be and stuff. Actually expect a decent review out of this game.

After thinking about it for sometime, I don’t think I could accurately rank the characters I play with unless I actually have more of a feel for how they play. At the moment I’m just using the x5 Speed Grind thing, but this is just so I have more attacks at my disposal to go and get a better opinion on the characters I currently have… Off the top of my head, I’m only missing, The Emperor, Cloud of Darkness, Kefka, Shantotto, and Gabranth.

Despite the lack of a full roster there are a couple things I can say:

1. Cecil is still at the top of my list. If anyone tried to fight me, I will use that as my main.
2. Exdeath can go suck a cock in The Void. What a horrible character to use.
3. Cloud is probably not going to be my back-up character. I might just settle for either Terra, Golbez, or Garland… I’m having a little trouble using Garland though, in-accurate bastard he is.

So, I still have those two new story modes to play… Might roll with a Villain in one of those and stuff. Sounds fun enough to do. I need the characters I do have in my posession at least at Level 40~50 before I even decide to drop this 5x thing and play normally. Since it’s my Bonus Day, that means I gotta start drilling.

Anyway, still in class right now, so I gotta wrap this up. Sorry for the lack of a substantial update.

When some of us were little, we would turn on the TV at (insert time here) to watch a show. That show was called Dragon Ball (Z/GT). I’m completely sure a lot of people remember Goku and him growing up in the original Dragon Ball series. I’m pretty sure everyone watched the episode where Goku got shot by Piccolo’s special beam cannon, and I’m pretty sure a lot of people were shaking when Goku came back from the dead to kick Vegeta’s ass. Anyways, I don’t think I need to write much about the Dragon Ball series as a whole, so let’s talk about Dragon Power. Dragon Power is a game made in 1986 for the NES. It was the first Dragon Ball game to be localized (game had to be edited due to lack of license), and it is pretty bad.. Anyways..

The story is pretty much the same as Dragon Ball’s storyline. You search for the Dragon Balls (crystal balls in this game). There are seven of them, and you start off with three. As mentioned earlier, the game was heavily edited. The graphics were edited, and the character names were edited (Goku stayed as Goku, but some characters like Master Roshi become Hermit), and some things were even censored. Remember this scene?  Instead of Roshi asking to see Bulma’s panties, Hermit asks for Nora’s sandwich. However, the old Dragon Ball story is still recognizable in this hilarious mess (though in some cases, it doesn’t even resemble Dragon Ball). Still worth a check for the laughs, though.

The graphics are pretty bad. Like I said earlier, the character sprites were edited. Nora (Bulma) has purple hair, Hermit (Master Roshi) now looks like Gandalf, and Goku (Goku) looks like a monkey faggot that flips you off every time you fight a boss battle. The level tiles are pretty generic, but then again, you won’t really see much different in any NES game. The sprites are comparable to the original Legend of Zelda sprites, but the visuals seem kind of… colour lacking, compared to games like the original Super Mario Bros. The environments aren’t varied enough, so it looks pretty boring at times.

The game doesn’t have much sound variety apart from the four songs you hear constantly throughout the game. Not much to say about this, except that the songs really suck.

_GAMEPLAY//

This game consists of 10 stages. The stages have some variety; some parts have platformer style gameplay (kind of like the GBC Legend of Zeldas, except for the notorious boss fights, which I will talk about later). The regular stages are pretty simple. They’re like a Legend of Zelda style game, but more beat-em-up. You don’t get any puzzles, you just blow past enemies and punch them. Sounds solid, but there are some pretty huge flaws. For one thing, the enemy design is stupid. Some enemies attack horizontally only. Although they can move vertically, you can easily kill them by going above them and slapping them with Goku’s Magic Stick. You can jump, but it’s utterly useless, as you can’t jump on most platforms in the plane. The biggest flaw in this game is probably the problem where when you stand still, you constantly lose HP. Hard to believe that a character that is stronger than any person on Earth has trouble standing on his own two legs. There is also the horribly designed Stage 2, where you have to repeatedly go to treasure chests and look for “Pudgy” (Oolong). When you find him, you punch him to make him drop a key. Rather stupid and unnecessary, and they never explain what you’re actually supposed to do.

As Goku progresses in his adventure, he will fight bosses. Most of the bosses are pretty stupid to fight. They have swords, and Goku has hands, feet, and a stick (that, like I said, looks like he’s flicking you off when he uses it). When the bosses touch you, you get hit. Fair enough, but their swords already give them more range than they give you. If you kick in mid-air, you automatically drop like a rock. You can also use a “Wind Wave” projectile (the manual explains how you do it incorrectly), but they are limited in quantity. The bosses are fairly inconsistant (the last boss involves you punching a giant mech that shoots missiles at you, you can literally stand right beside the boss because he doesn’t hurt when you touch him). Either way, while the bosses occasionally have variety, they are horribly boring to fight. They don’t restore your health after you beat them either, so if you die, you have to fight them again. Although you get HP item drops, they are completely random, and your HP will probably run out from you walking around before you get them anyway.

The quote says it all. This game is a waste of your time. Crappy music, average visuals, and horribly flawed gameplay. If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball, and you absolutely MUST play the first localized Dragon Ball game…. don’t bother with this. It’s not worth it… Seriously!

And I seriously can’t wait for it to happen. I re-installed Safari to help out with something on my computer and I couldn’t help but notice all the old links I still had. This just so happened to be one of them. So for this post, I’m throwing it REALLY far back. So far, that this was the banner I used before Disc Read Error: Insert Disc 2 was revived. I forgot how simple the banner actually was. I actually like it a lot now that I think about it.

So significant Dissidia progress was made once I got home earlier this evening. Since it was my bonus day, I figured it would be a great day to go and level up the only character who seems to matter right now… Which in this case is Cecil. So in the course of an hour, Level 38 to Level 51. And I’m still nowhere near done with the game… Dammit. I’ll get this done within the next week or so. Definitely gotta take advantage of my Bonus Days more.

: Recently just beat Naruto: Path of a Ninja on stream. After I got that ONE combo I kept repeating, ever battle seemed easy. At that point, I just wanted to finish it up as quickly as I could. Otherwise, a very solid game. Even for a Naruto game, I liked this one quite a bit. The adventure aspect was actually pretty cool, but those traps plagued around the town can go suck a serious cock. I have NO idea how many times those things killed me. This village is WAY too protected. I’m working on Nartuo: The Broken Bond next. Might just have to start this one over because I have NO idea what the hell I’m doing anymore.

While I really have nothing else to say, I’m going to advertise for a bit. This could be relevant to people’s interests, so I suppose it’s worth posting. A friend of mine is selling off a couple games that he owns. He has a fairly good collection of NES, SNES, and PSX games, so check out what he’s selling and if you’re interested in something that he has, hit me up with a PM on the Backloggery, I’ll give you his e-mail so you could inquire stuff with him… Although keep your hands off of Suikoden II, Final Fantasy VII, and Brave Fencer Musashi. Anyway, before I update on whatever I’ve done this past week, I’m going to do a stupid girl rant. So.. I got this god damn fucking hair straightener on Friday. It was great. My hair looked awesome. A bit too emo, though. I decided to tone it down, but anyway, it’s fun messing with a hair straightener. I washed my hair, then I tried straightening it again, it was fine.. but it looked too normal. The god damn back of my hair keeps curving at the edges, no matter how many times I try to straighten it, it won’t stop. ._. God damn it. It doesn’t look that bad. But still. I bought it so that my hair wouldn’t curve at the edges. ; – ; ANYWAY, gamesz + anime.

I’m pretty much at the end of FFVI at this point. Yay, it will be the 2nd mainstream FF game I’ll have beaten. Only like, 9 more.. at least until XIII comes out. ._. I don’t count XI.

I’m actually contemplating on who to use when I go to fight Kefka. According to Reb, in Kefka’s Tower, I’m supposed to split up into three teams. I might go with these: Terra, Sabin, Cyan, Edgar (Main Party), Locke, Celes, Gogo, Setzer (Other Party), Strago, Relm, Mog (Useless Party that I’ll avoid battles with). YES, I KILLED OFF SHADOW AND DID NOT GET UMARO, STFU. I wonder, I managed to recruit Mog on my team in the World of Ruin, can I do the same with Umaro? Apparently, if I missed Mog, I missed Umaro. But I didn’t miss Mog. D:

I really wish I waited for Shadow, though.. he was a badass.

I might just hurry up and finish this soon, I have to move on. Next on my list is probably Tales of Destiny and Folklore. I need something to do during my free time at school and I also need to stop neglecting my PS3. However, before that, I SHOULD STOP NEGLECTING MY STUDIES (like right now) READ WHAT I NEED TO READ AND GET WHAT I NEED TO GET DONE, but alas, I am lazy. But, shit – getting As on all of my English papers always makes my morning, dood.

I’ve pretty much played all of the Final Fantasy mainstream games, just haven’t beaten them. Actually – almost all. Still have to try out FFV. It looks really unappealing, though. >_>

Oh, CANAAN. I didn’t really like the ending at all, it felt kind of rushed. At least say goodbye to Maria in a decent way, Canaan. I was actually kind of hoping that Maria would die.. but then, Canaan would kill herself. They acted so gay, I was convinced the anime would turn into a yuri or something.

Anyway, the last episode felt REAAALLY rushed. Like, in the prior episode, Canaan was like a whole other person.

Episode 12: Canaan was going crazy, practically. She was being overwhelmed with guilt and crazy worried about Maria, convinced that she had to save her life at any cost. Alphard was a sarcastic, cynical badass. The episode ends with a cliffhanger.

Episode 13: The train explodes, Canaan screams out “MARIA!” All of a sudden, she stares at Alphard, not with vengeance or hate, but hope. It really came out of nowhere. All of this talk about Maria being Canaan’s “light” and then she suddenly says, “Maria is not my light. She’s a friend.” What? Stop contradicting yourself.

But anyway, I wish they at least said their goodbyes to each other. Maria just ended up in the hospital and Canaan left, that was it. But, it’s pretty much implied that Canaan can’t protect Maria if she’s around her, because she’s always getting herself into dangerous shit and Maria gets dragged into it and becomes the damsel. Poor, useless child.

I was getting tired of that whole “YOU ARE MY LIGHT, YOU SHINE SO BRIGHTLY,” shit anyway. No one fucking speaks like that, it felt kind of unrealistic.

Oh well, I liked Canaan’s quote at the end.

Saki. Saki is an anime about mahjong. Now, I really don’t  understand the whole concept of mahjong, but I guess this anime has pretty much taught me more about it and stuff. At least the fundamentals, anyway. It was pretty interesting, to say the least. Aside from the hoards of gay subtext.

I watched it for the voice actors. With the ending, I’m expecting a season two. Also, what the hell is with Saki and Nodoka? They act like such newly-weds, jesus. *BLUSH BLUSH BLUSH BLUSH*

Well, the summer anime season has pretty much ended (or IS ending) this week.. or last week, whatever. Anyway, soon the fall anime season will be starting up, so it’s time to take a look at those new, upcoming anime. Check out Chartfag  for a really good list of fall’s upcoming anime.

It’s mainly to reflect games that are no longer in my possession and stuff I’ve downloaded and abandoned since then. There’s a couple of games still ed, but I’ll live with them being ed for now.

I’m sure playing this game for about 17 hours now should say something. I have a couple of story modes left to complete, but otherwise, I’m trying to find out who I want to eventually main. I haven’t touched many of the villains, but I could easily deduct who I want to use. I’m no pro at this game and all the chat about the characters might or might not make too much sense, but this my opinion anyway. Cecil (Final Fantasy IV) – I seem to have a lot of fun with him. Plus, despite not finishing the game yet, I’ve already gone through his story twice now. About 90% completed now? I’m a fan of his Dark Knight form and I suppose it’s my thing about being a close-range fighter that actually makes me like him as a character. On top of that, his DK form has some ranged attacks that even if blocked could still damage the opponent, so maining him is a strong possibility.

Cloud (Final Fantasy VII) – He’s definitely a beginner’s character. Easy to use and all that other good stuff, but he’s a character that really shouldn’t be taken too lightly. Couple of awesome close-range attacks makes me like using him more. Definitely want to spend more time using him.

Zidane (Final Fantasy IX) – I’m not 100% percent convinced on him, but as a mid-air fighter, he definitely is fun to play as. Because of all his mid-air and chase stuff, it made completing his story just a bit easier. I could be sold on him if I use him more, but we’ll see.

Terra (Final Fantasy VI) – Oh boy, Mach chose a ranged fighter? I actually had a lot of fun using her. I breezed through her story pretty quickly. I suppose as being a close-range fighter, she could potentially balance out my mains and subs. I’m pretty sure when I get her other cheap attacks I could get good with her as well.

Firion (Final Fantasy II) – Ugh… Going through his story mode was a nightmare considering his only HP attack was Straightarrow. I do believe Loco when he says that he gets a lot better when he get Weapon Master, but I’m not completely sold on him yet. I do like him as a character and I want to work with him a bit more, but with his current attacks, I’m a little pessimistic about it. x__x

Squall (Final Fantasy VIII) – I mean, as a close range fighter, Kasumi says that I should like him… I dunno, I do like him as a close-range fighter, but I’m just not completely sold on him. I can’t really put my finger on what I don’t like, but he’s not horrible by any stretch.

Tidus (Final Fantasy X) – I didn’t have too much of a hassle beating his story mode, but I do agree with everyone that his moves are just a little too inaccurate for his own good. Spiral Cut keeps going and you leave yourself completely open when you miss and Energy Rain is just a pain in the ass because of the air lag if you miss. I do like playing as him though. I just hope working with him will get better over time.

Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy I) – I’ve only played his tutorial level and that’s the only time I’ve gotten to play with him since I plan to finish his Destiny Odyssey last. I mean, he’s alright, but it seems like it takes a lot of work to get good with him.

Onion Knight (Final Fantasy III) – He might move to my approval list at a later time. As his description says, he’s a nice balance of close and far range and I seem to like playing as him so far as I currently progress through his chapter.

Bartz (Final Fantasy V) – So how many times did I lose to Golbez last night? It was just a trainwreck with me trying to beat the game with him. I mean… Ugh… I just didn’t have too much fun with him. As of right now, he’s the only character I disapprove of using.

So there’s my list so far. It will change the more I blast time into this, but we’ll see what happens. I’ll definitely refer back to this list when the time comes.

In other gaming news, I got rid of a bunch of games in my Backlog and picked up Halo 3: ODST. Not really too much to say about it. I enjoy the campaign and that’s about all I could say about it right now. Otherwise, not much else.
